Painted front grilles yay or nay?

My first mod to a grill was with the oem grill. I took a angle grander and milled off the back side to open up all the holes. I still have that one in the store house. It looks perfect. Then I took a upper and lower MMD pair with the side pockets fully opened and installed some mesh. That is the one that got damaged. I am still running the lower modified MMD. Something to keep in mind. If you paint it satin black and later you want it gloss black all you have to do is scuff up the satin surface with a scottbrite and clear coat it with a good ultra clear to get a high gloss finish. But if you start with a gloss you and want to go satin you will have to start over

If I got it painted I'd have a shop do it. I have bad luck with painting. Did a bumper a few years back and I don't know if it was shitty Rust-Oleum paint and clear coat or an issue with me but I found out while working on the car where my knees hit that the paint brushed off/rubbed off after a few months. Totaled that mustang but yeah. Out of curiosity though, would wrap hold up? I have across shop across from where I work that could do the work at a fair price if it would hold up. Even easier than paint so if I don't like it I can have it redone.

I'm going to probably end up with the precut one. I can very easily do it myself but if I fuck up the cut I'm going to hate myself since oem grilles are still 200+ not including shipping. If I get precut then I don't have to worry about it. I don't hate the rtr but I'm stuck between loving it and wishing there was less light and more of a darker look/open look. Snagged this in my way to the carwash. My other thought was tint the rte lights and cut the wires but I really dig the mesh, the mesh reminds me of the cervini c series grille which I love but since it's a modified OEM grille it has none of the issues the cervinis one has. I'll price some stuff out and see what I come to. I can always get the precut one painted or wrapped (probably would start with wrap to see if I like the look or not. I figure it's harder when the mesh is installed but not impossible.

Small update, I went ahead and ordered the pre assembled grille. No need for paint or vinyl although it's still an option down the line as I love how it looks but I'd def go vinyl because screw removing the grille. Also happy to remove the rtr because the wires out extreme stress on the headlight harness and I've been concerned about damage for the year or so I've had it.
