Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice here. I’ve got a 2018 Mustang GT with the Roush Phase 2 supercharger kit. Unfortunately, I recently had a run-in with some road debris, which took out my lower bumper along with the radar sensor for the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and frontal collision assist.

The car’s currently at a body shop getting repaired, and I’ve been trying to figure out whether calibrating the new radar sensor will overwrite my Roush tune. My dealer insists that recalibrating the sensor will overwrite the tune, but the body shop is saying it shouldn’t.

I know the Roush tune is tied to the PCM, so I’m wondering if radar calibration would even touch that. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation or have insight on this? I really don’t want to mess up my tune during the repair process.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice!

I’d suggest getting pcmtec and reading your Roush cal. Afterwards, you can reflash it yourself. Technically you can even do it with just a j2534 dongle and the Roush RDT software for even cheaper, but with pcmtec you can make tweaks to the tune yourself.

That seems smart, and I'll probably go through one of these solutions so I don't have to rely on shops doing it 'right'. I appreciate the advice!

I have a 2020 Shelby GT with a supercharger (rebadged Roush to Shelby). Have replaced the radar sensor 2x (1x bought broken 2nd time I hit a parking block) and reprogrammed it with no issues about the roush engine tune it is separate. It is a little tricky to do, but I have figured it out with the forscan app and dongle.
