I've been trying to post the video of going down Conrod Straight but I can't. Here's a screenshot, this is about as fast as I got.

You post it to YouTube and then paste the link in a new post. It loads an image and plays the video in the message when you tap the image.

Can't wait to see it.

A bit off topic but for those of you who have tracked bathurst, when I have driven around it in racing games it seems incredibly narrow and tough in the corners, is that what it is like in real life? I think it is up there with the hardest tracks in gaming at least

Hi Bruce - Track day in September with some friends from the Torana Club the best lap time I got was 2:49 that was off the speedo down Conrod (260+)but just managing to not scrape the concrete walls up top - Hardest corner for me was Forest Elbow. If you get the chance to do a quick lap do it as these cars are built for it! - Those supercar drivers doing 2.03 - 2.08 are crazy.

Absolutely. I think everyone remembers their first actual drive around Bathurst because AV doesn't really convey many of its characteristics. Personally I found the tightness of Griffins and the steepness and complexity of The Cutting to be the most surprising. The the lack of visibility coming out of The Chase was also interesting. IMHO it's a track that needs to be 'read' particularly well.
