protects them from Bigfoot unless he just pushes the button on the right…and the garage door leads into the house, my question is WTF were you searching for![]()
I was searching for garage door locks for inside for when traveling. Prevents quick access from outside by hooking the release cable. Think Slim Jims. Passed on that and similar because I also wanted tamper proof to prevent opening from inside without a key to steal cars, tool chests, etc. Pad locks don't slow anyone down much if they can just unbolt the lock.…and the garage door leads into the house, my question is WTF were you searching for![]()
Richt. Door could not transition from vertical to horizontal. Plus who knows what other issues would arise before it got to the transition point from the locks actually eliminating rollers. The garage door would work to stop the door from going up - the "dead bolt" goes into the track and most tracks have a slot for it.
BUT the mounting plate also means that lock will prevent the door from moving because it is across 2 panels

Thanks, but they can still hook the lever. Plus, that would not prevent easy opening the garage door from the inside if they manage to get inside. Padlocks and inaccessible bolts slow them down a lot more. Already have other deterrents like being on a dead-end street with a police precinct about as close to the exit as my house. LoLJust remove the string from the release lever.
