Hey y’all,

Last month, I installed Roush H pipe and it was the biggest mistake cause I already got the Roush axle back as well! The sound is super loud. Personally, I won't mind it, but its too loud for my neighbors not only that but them 5-0 are giving me a hard time every morning going to work. I've had it! So I'm thinking of replace the H pipe with Ford performance resonator delete by Borla. What y'all think? It will be better than the stock resonator for sure ain't it? And would it be a direct fit with the oem pipes?

No idea how loud or quiet this will be. I assume it's similar to the Borla one, and does mate up to 2.5" pipes. Based on the quality of other Borla products, I would assume quality is excellent.

I had looked into it because I was concerned whether I'd like the X-pipe tone of the FP touring exhaust. I love it and it's not too loud so I never bothered.

Roush ABs are pretty loud IMO, I'd put them next to Corsa and Borla's loudest mufflers.

That will tone it down nicely.

I removed the stock resonator and replaced it with the Borla touring resonator which is very similar to the Ford Performance resonator. The Borla touring resonator sounds slightly louder than the stock resonator.

So you already had the Roush axle back with the stock resonator, then swapped out the resonator for the H-pipe? How much louder did it get? I currently have the Roush mufflers and have been thinking about an H pipe. :)

Gosh it is so LOUD. Call me crazy, but I hate it. Mustang should be loud, but not that loud lol. Cold starts are the worst. I believe Roush axle back with the stock resonator are the BEST sound for Mustangs.

Seems that Ford Performance resonator would not fit the oem mid pipes and it will needs some welding done to it and as much I hate welding, I think I'll go back to the stock resonator.

Forgot to ask ya, did it fit the oem mid pipes? was the (length) of the new resonator same as the stock one?

No. It was shorter. I had to buy a cheap h-pipe and cut it up to make extensions in order for it to fit.

I'll be canceling my order from Summit. Found this picture on this forum. The oem is way too big, and I believe the Borla resonator is similar in size to the one shown in the picture.

You are correct. Like I said I had to cut a H-pipe and use the split off ends and clamp them on in order to fit. I took me about 3 hours.
