Anyone do Ford Racing touring axle back yet?

Forgive a new thread, but I've looked through tons of threads on various exhaust setups but I don't believe I saw any video of anybody who has installed the FRPP touring axle-back yet with everything else stock... anyone?

I have a feeling the axle backs aren't going to be as popular. 2 reasons really. 1st is the cat backs will get rid of the suitcase of a resonator. 2nd is the cut and clamp. Many aren't willing to hack their system up in order to run AB's while also still paying a pretty penny.

Good points... still $500-$600 cheaper though so I'm just curious to hear the difference in comparison to the cat-back... that would really show what the resonator is (or isn't) doing to the sound...

I agree with Jay here. Doing the complete cat-back would be easier than cutting the pipes in the car.

another issue i see is that the OEM exhaust is 1 piece, where they hell will you store and keep something this big, long and heavy? i havent decided on what to do yet because of this and i would hate to cut and junk the OEM system because i have no space to store it in 1 piece.

I put mine in my shed, where I had my last 4 OEM exhausts. Since it's 1 piece it will lean up against a wall easily, I just wrapped the tips with bubble wrap and plastic.

I'm facing the exact same problem. I rather get a catback system at this point, but I have nowhere to put the stock unit.

I was just hoping for a little point in the right direction. :shrug:

I found it, after figuring out how to search comments from a particular user. Sorry, new to the forum and still learning.

I do like the sound though... I also saw a discussion of loss of low throttle response from doing the cat-back as compared to the axle back, which might weigh into the decision... but that didn't sound like that was accepted as fact by the majority.

Look at the dyno sheet I posted with the SW cat back. Lost 10 HP and 5 tq. Suddenly thus axle back doesn'tsound like a bad way to go.

I have the Ford Racing Sport. Not sure the diff. from the Touring performance wise but I can tell you it has no drone and sounds snotty when you hit the gas. A little muffled pop on down shifts. Took no time to install. I did a quick measurement, cut and clamp. Fit perfect. Took about a half hour once it was in the air. Oh yeah, and looks much better.

Do you have any youtube or sound clips? I have not yet heard the axle back sport mufflers, only the full cat back... Would you say the system is pretty loud in the cabin during normal driving? My touring axle backs are pretty quiet.
