So I got my new badge today. Installed it on the grille. Placed it center as off to the side looked weird. The grille install happens in about 38 hours. Will post pics then

So it is done. Took 2 hours start to finish. Watched a few videos on the subject and read what I could. All I saw made this job out to be much more difficult than it actually was. The most difficult part was dissecting the grille shutters to get them out

Bye bye old grille and shutters

Looking good my man.

The lights and emblem really make that front end pop.

I have had mine installed a little under a month. After doing some digging, it doesn't seem anyone has found a way to replace the bulbs or modify it with their own bulbs after they burn out. Is this not really an option?

I've seen one from ikon motorsports on ebay with tinted lights, it's essentially the same item for $172.

I've read few reviews on AM website saying the LED lights version was causing the headlights to fail after few months; and dealers refusing to replace them under warranty blaming the RTR grille. That's the other thing i'm concerned about.

Had my RTR upper and lower grill on for about 12 months, no issues yet.

So I am really wanting the RTR lighted grille for my 2018. Cannot think of a cooler option than that grille. But I also know about the lights being less than reliable. And for $550 just for the upper grille that is a lot of cash for a possible disappointment. So please if you have this grille, or know somebody who does, how long have you had it and are the lights still working? If not how long did they last before crapping out? From what I read it seems that more than half of these lights fail within 6 months. I am hoping that the input I can get here from this thread can show me otherwise. TIA

Don
I got the RTR grill for my 2018 mustang in Oct 2018. Within 6 months the driver side has three individual LED died but you have to look really close. Passenger side is still perfect. Americanmuscle told me there's not warranty on these :-(. 3 months ago my passenger headlight wasn't turning on. Turns out there was a loose wire in the RTR grill harness that jiggled loose. So yes, I would say there is reliability issues with the RTR grill but I would still buy one. RTR grill comes with a plug and play harness, be careful if you are buying the knock offs. I seen some of them where you have to slice wires.

So just over a month after buying my RTR, the bottom of the drivers side lights have gone out, as well as a few on the passenger side. When you look at the lights you can see water is getting into the housing which is likely why there are so many issues with these lights.

To RTR's credit they are sending me a replacement pair of lights, though it's been a month and I still haven't got them.

My question is, has anyone found a way to water proof these with some kind of clear waterproofing that you don't see? It seems clear that the issue is RTR has a leak in the housing somewhere.

How did you fix the loose wiring that caused the headlight to not turn on at times? I’m having this issue where sometimes the headlight turns on and other times it doesn’t. A few months ago Ford said there was a wiring issue and I had to pay for that. They blamed RTR and so I contacted them directly and they sent me a new pair of lights. I installed them again and a few weeks later we are back again with the same headlight sometimes turning on and other times it doesn’t. I have a suspicion it might be the ballast that’s going out? I’ve swapped headlights three times already. OEM, Amazon aftermarket and Diode branded HIDs.

After hitting a wall at sonoma raceway i changed the front fascianand the rtr grille
with the i5autohaus.
Nothing bad with RTR to be clear. Just trying somenthing new.
I5autohaus.
Cons. The wires connection to the fog light could/should be better.
Pros. Multi colours. And better shape i like it! Comes with a controller.

Well my grille lights fell victim to the burning out LEDs. Contacted RTR to see if they will help. Not expecting them to even get back to me. Dang it

So I installed my RTR knockoff grille on Saturday. Pretty straight forward and looks pretty good. I was able to reuse one of the RTR harnesses so that I didn't have to hack into the factory wiring. Here is the RTR grille when I first installed it

And here is the knockoff grille

The RTR lights are more attractive as they are slimmer and brighter. But considering that a replacement set would have cost $300+ the under $200 knockoff was a no brainer

Wanted to reply a few years later Lol.

How's the grille holding up plus the LED lights? Looking to change my stock grill, might go with the RTR without the LED's considering I hear they just die, but the multi-color LED has me interested from i5
