Joe, did you wet or dry sand this? It looks great. I have started this with dry. The plan is for 1000,1500, 2000, and 2500 grit. ($4, for a pack of 5.)

I polished my stock quad exhaust tips today. They look amazing. I started with 1000 wet/dry then 2000 then 3000. Finished them off with polishing compound. I took some time but it was worth it. You have to be careful the edges can be sharp.

Want to keep them bright White Diamond metal polish. Made for stainless and alum, would have saved all the labor.

Would not be using any abrasives, myself for stainless. I can see scratches from the abrasives @ two o clock .

The exhaust tips get dirty, White Diamond metal polish will clean that without harming the surface.

Want to protect you hand, I would suggest picking up some thick cotton sport socks. Where like a glove, apply and buff the tips.

They also come in very handy. Enabling a user to control the coverage. When applying dressings like the 303. Trigger spray applicators, over spray .

These were removed for some cat backs, have water spots. But it can clearly be seen. What's meant about not using an abrasive for a stainless surface.

Wet sand, then compound. I superglued the sand paper together to make long strips about three inches wide so I could get long strokes. It wasn’t easy but the results were worth it.

I have been using P21S Polishing Soap on exhaust tips for a long time now.

This product would be an ideal maintenance product once you have got them up to spec. I clean the inner and outer surface of exhaust tips at every wash with normal car wash soap, however every now and then I need something with a bit bite to it, usually when carbon has bonded to the metal.

This product is used while the car is still wet. Firstly, wet the supplied sponge and wipe it over the soap. Start scrubbing, the product will start to foam up. Rinse the tips clean, likewise the applicator sponge.

I follow this up with a spray of a product like CarPro Hydr02 to protect them.

I really like this product for its ease of use/application.
