They all do. Some just do better than others with updating. It takes months to get the tune halfway usable and most want to beat the competitors to market so the first tune or 3 are generally rough around the edges.
That’s what I was thinking that maybe it’s just a rushed tune. I sure hope that’s what it is or I’ll be breaking warranty and going elsewhere!

Are you sure that going elsewhere would be any better at this point?

I am not quite clear on what is different about the 2021s that has caused Roush to have 2 tune revisions already and still apparently needing work.

Roush’s response:
Hello ,

I would recommend taking the vehicle back to the dealer and having them open a warranty case for this concern. Have you changed the tire size from the 275/40R19 in the rear to something different?

When they open the warranty case we will have them clear adaptive learning feature for the transmission. After this please only drive the vehicle in NORMAL mode and drive the vehicle NORMAL for a full tank of gas so the transmission can learn properly.

How did your transmission behave prior to the Roush installation? If you bought the car with the SC already installed, have you driven another Mustang with the 10A?

Transmission felt fine before the SC was installed. Obviously in sport and higher the shifts were hard but not erratic. Have never driven another 10a mustang before.

Interesting that Roush asked if tire size had been changed. I have run multiple different sized tires and there was no difference in my transmission behavior.

I have my doubts if clearing the adaptive learning and just driving in normal mode for awhile fixes anything. Typically, when the adaptive learning is cleared, you may get slightly different shifts for 50 miles or so but I haven't experienced a dramatic difference.

Keep us posted on this. I wish you could drive a 2018-2020 with the Roush for comparison purposes. Also, would be nice if you could drive another 2021 with the Roush but it would be unlikely to find one.
