Hey guys,

I recently had a custom steering made by Beith Performance, can’t tell you how happy I am with the way it turned out.

The question I have is I want to black out the ring and pony on the air bag.

Has anyone out there painted/wrapped or done anything to the emblem on the steering wheel?

Interesting thought. I think I saw one post on here where the owner had a white pony. I have seen aftermarket airbags, but they were leather and stitching upgrade.

I love my Beith wheel also.

I saw a video on youtube a couple of months ago where a guy did exactly what you're asking.
He did all the trims. bezel and horse in steering wheel, volume button and flip switches on center console, door handles, gearshift bezel... ALL parts was taken apart and had done a black finish.

I've tried looking it up but without any luck. I'll keep trying but you can also go search for it :)

Awesome! I have been searching but couldn’t find anything to helpful. Nothing from the S550 era at least.
I will continue searching, but this gives me hope thank you!

Ya I saw a couple covers made in places.. didn’t really see one that I liked.
I don’t mind the logo on there, just the chrome gotta go.

And honestly the wheel is beautiful.. I haven’t installed it yet, but hopefully this weekend..

To be honest, I have been thinking of biting the bullet and ordering one.

Dam..... well there ya go.

Definitely not cheap, but it’s given me more to think about

I already emailed them to see what color green stitching they have

After looking at a couple of their samples suddenly just blacking out the horse isn’t the same...

If their green matches that green... I’ll probably order one.

Your wheel looks very familiar.

Oh yes, I did check the site a long time ago. I contemplated changing the seat belts in my Corvette and realized that if I had ordered the $300 red belts as an option when I ordered the car would have been getting a deal.

I don't know if I could talk to myself in buying $1350 seatbelts :)

They also offer a respool of your factory ones. Runs 500$ for the pair. OTD was $1,000 for mine. Not cheap... but also didn’t want to cheap out on something like seatbelts.

Yes they are completely unnecessary and over the top, but considering I have to always wear a fucking seatbelt, it’s right up there with changing out your shifter or steering wheel.

I had Carbonsteer do a custom Alcantara airbag cover to match the steering wheel I had made by Carbontastic (when they didn't respond quick enough) I was kinda glad for the delay cuz at the time, Carbontastic didn't offer the blacked out pony; though maybe they do now.

Love the way it came out.

They do leather as well...
$200 for the airbag cover

Taking the old cover off was quite a chore...
