Yep, the 107's are still my favorite design, Terrance and they look killer on the FPB above. But, my personal favorite finish is brushed Titanium... :-)

I really like the hidden hardware option. In the short time I had with my SV302s wheels, I hated cleaning them with the bolts in the way. Nice work.

I have ordered all my multipiece wheels with hidden hardware. For 2 reasons: 1. cleaning 2. cleaner look.

However i think on many of the wheel styles the exposed hardware almost makes the wheel....

Wheels...has anything caused more consternation in an enthusiast's life? It's worse than picking the color for the darn car.

Anyway, I had initially fallen for T's SV 107's but after seeing the SV503's quite by accident a couple days ago earlier in this thread, I fell in love again.

I know Tom is correct when he says take the CF wheels off for street use and keep them in primo condition. Obviously, I'm not concerned about rotating mass but the horns of the dilemma are, you paid for those wheels, how much sense does it make to pay for an aluminum set to protect the really espensive ones and not even USE the espensive ones. Tough call for me.

Meanwhile, here is a before and after (and thanks again for the photos, Terrance.)

You make a good point here. At times the hardware provides another level of detail, and the look of expense. Most enthusiasts know Multipiece wheels cost more. Something about the Multipiece wheel with the hardware showing let’s people know it is on another level.

In college I learned about a term called use value. In early economies many items, and a persons worth, were based on how useful it/they were to society. A shovel carried a high value in a farming community, as did the person that could make them.

I have found my value in the car comes from being to drive it anywhere at any time. Parking it in wet/cold took away the ability for me to use it, and in turn lowered its value to me. The signature setup and street tires encouraged me to drive my 350R more and with less worry. The use value I got from the wheels and increased enjoyment from driving made the wheels worth way more than I paid. Sometimes I just want to be a baller and drive to Costco in the racecar.

For you I would think it comes down to how often do you plan to use the car. If the fear of damaging a wheel or losing traction is keeping you from driving then I would get a second set of wheels that really allow you to get the use out of the car you paid for.

I apply this to buying/selling cars or parts as well. If I got the value from its use then I don’t sweat so much the actual monetary cost up front or potential loss upon sale.

Well said, Terrance...very well said.

No, not tire-related at all, just ultra concerned about that stray piece of gravel getting in where it shouldn't and cutting a nice gouge out of the barrel. And I hear you loud and clear on "use value" T. Truth is, I think I may have already gotten my use value out of this one, it's so amazing.

But, since I like to keep 'em for awhile as many do, I'm relatively sure I'll be ordering a set from ya here before too long and odds are, it'll be SV503's in Brushed Titanium. Sure, the CR wheels look great, can't argue with that, but with a second set from you and another set of tars, I could swap them out when/if the mood strikes me. <chuckling> Truth is, that will solve the "spare tire" issue but in fact, I will be much happier with your solution as I can keep it in the truck and not have to worry about her trying to lift it up into the bed. Biggest problem is finding a space to store those four big kahunas.

Plus, being an old schooler, I tend to lean toward brigher wheels rather than dark. Kinda like canned peas and corn, if you grew up eatin' em, you still probably love them. I know I do.
