We at Signature Wheel are having a ton of fun building wheel setups for the GT350, GT350R, S550, and Foxbody guys over the last couple years. Now it’s time to get started with the GT500.

We recently got the blessing from a lucky GT500 owner to build a set of wheels for his upcoming Twister Orange GT500. I cannot think of a better way to kick things off.

This particular owner is going to order a set of our Multipiece SV302S for his GT500 in a 21x11 / 21x12. Offsets will be finalized once we finish some research with Ford Performance on the new car.

With a 2-piece construction the wheel face bolts inside of the barrel. With a 20” minimum wheel clearance needed on the GT500, it means we are building a 21” wheel, since the wheel face that bolts inside the barrel is 20”. With the increase in wheel sizes from manufacturers like Porsche who builds the GT3RS with a factory 20/21 setup it leaves us with some great street and track tire options. Aesthetically it should be killer.

This thread will serve to highlight Wheel builds, customer cars, answer questions, and share testing data. Wheel owners can showcase their cars here as well. Any questions you guys have please ask, as we plan to be here for a while. Tons of Shelby media can be found in our build album.

JFC, that gray GT350R (with your wheels) above, is __spectacular__.

Later on, I'm going to touch myself to this photo ...

Sounds like it’s about to get 50 shades of Lead Foot Gray up in here.
OP, are you getting a GT500??? :D
My GT500 plans are up in the air. I have my GT350R, and an F150 Raptor I am about to debut a set of our wheels on. Not to mention my Foxbody lol.

I have an MSRP deal lined up but have to wait my turn. When I get the call I may make the move. Until then my goal is to make sure you guys freaking kill it with bad ass wheels on the street, track, and drag strip in the mean time.

Good news gents. We are going to have an opportunity to take some measurements of the GT500 in the real world.

Research has shown the new GT500 front fenders to be slightly larger than the GT350, so optimization of the new offsets is key. We feel it’s important not to jump the gun on such an iconic car.

We should be ready to go for you guys soon.

Our wheel setups would remove 30-48 lbs of unsprung weight from the GT350 depending on the wheel design and offsets. I expect similar for the GT500. Not to mention the increase in brake caliper clearance

The GT500 is getting me pretty damn excited. Going to have an opportunity to take some measurements on one in a coupe weeks so we can dial in our offsets.

Until then I have been toying around with some of our Signature Wheel profiles on the new GT500. Pics are pulled mostly from GT350’s we built for in order to keep the concave profile true to life.

Let me know which is your favorite of this batch, and what other wheels of ours you want to see. Everything we offer is available to be custom built for the GT500.

I'll say it again, the reason I'm looking to get the CF wheels off the CFTP is to keep them from getting ruined on the street by road debris. Again, here is the God awful caliper clearance. I would like a forged aluminum OEM replica wheel with ample caliper clearance that maintains the OEM look and style of a CFTP wheel. I am not looking to bling my CFTP out into something else. Maybe I'm the odd man out, but I would like to keep the OEM look (that I am paying so much for) and keep it from looking like a different car while being able to not having to worry about destroying my CF wheels on the street.

Im researching tires as well, size, compound brand and their weights. depending on front wheel size, I could potentially drop another 8lbs per front wheel as well. In total, that is not insignificant reductions, overall and especially as unsprung

That brake caliper clearance issue we will solve all day, and twice on Sunday.

We can definitely appreciate the desire to keep the OEM look an such an amazing car. For all the guys looking for something different it’s going to be one hell of a ride.

Ok, we've spoken a couple times and I'm on the fence, but this is getting closer to pushing me over the top. Would it be possible to see this picture with black face and polished barrel? Or let me say, the one that's on the Magnetic GT350, which I also believe is the very first wheel in this thread. I have ordered a Ford Racing Blue with Painted white stripes and I have been trying to see what these would look like on it. Painted stripes deletes the side stipe possibility (from Ford that is) but this will give be the best look at what it will look like and help me make my decision.

Lastly, what's the deal with tires? will your wheels re-use the stock tires?

EDIT* Rereading it I see they will require 21" tires. This may be a game changer for me unfortunately. I look forward to what is figured out as time goes on.

J,

If you want a 2 piece wheel like the SV304S then we need to build in a 21”. That is the style of wheel pictured on the GT350R.

The wheel you have pictured above is the SV104. Which is a monoblock version of the two piece SV304S. We can build that in a 20” to reuse the OEM tire/TPMS. You won’t be able to split the colors like a polished lip however. The wheel is going to be one solid color.

Rapid Red is shaping up to be one of my favorites. Let’s see what you think about these.

Really like the top wheel in the Red Rapid post above. Looks sharp.
