Hi Guys,

New to the Mustang Scene, Top of my shopping list.... a new exhaust.

I want to keep the Ford Warranty (UK) so the choice is between:

Roush Exhaust Kit (Round Tip), Mustang 5.0 V8
https://www.mountunestore.com/colle...oducts/roush-exhaust-kit-round-tip-mustang-v8

+ Roush Resonator Delete X-Pipe (MAYBE??)
https://www.mountunestore.com/collections/mustang-2-3-ecoboost/products/roush-x-pipe

OR

REMUS* Sports Exhaust System stainless steel, with chromed twin tail pipes and integrated valve
https://www.ford-accessories.co.uk/...xhaust-system/2334524?model=mustang&year=2015

I have had sleepless nights (of wild mustangs, running through my head) trying to decide which one to get! Now I need a few extra horse power (you guys) to help me take the reins (of the situation) and steer me down the path to loud town!
(All puns intended!)

One thing to note please is this is my daily drive. I would like to get 100,000 miles on this car and still keep my hearing!

All advice is welcome and looking forward to seeing what you think!

Thanks,
Mike

No Ford dealer is going to refuse you warranty work because of an exhaust so I wouldn’t worry about that. Plus the only one out of those that is warranty approved is the Remus item sold through Ford dealers.

Personally I went for the Roush axle backs as they are nice and cheap plus give a lovely noise. Best bang for your buck in my opinion. If those alone aren’t enough then add a H or X pipe to get even more noise!

This is with just the axle backs fitted...

If you want loud, raspy, high pitched tone (not classic of an American muscle car) then the Roush exhaust with X-pipe is your choice. The ROush exhaust you mention with teh X-pipe came on my 17 GT I bought as second owner. I do not like it (factory headers and cats btw). My wife hates it. No drone, just very loud, and very raspy, very trumpety, and higher pitched than what an American Muscle car should sound like IMO. It comes off in two weeks and will be replaced with a deeper note Solo system found locally for a song that came off a car that went twin turbo and was unable to make use of it.

Depends on your taste in exhaust note. Everyone has an opinion. I'd sell you the Roush system (mufflers and X-pipe) coming off of mine if you weren't across the pond and save you about half. Word of advice. Don't get hung up on the Roush name. You pay a lot for the multiple logos they stamp, paste, or print all over everything they sell. A prime example of what Brits observe as being 'over zealous American tourist type'. You know the type I speak of. I worked for a British Based Company for 2 years that was based out of Oxfordshire. Best compliment they paid me was when they told me I did not present myself as the "typical American tourist type. There is something to be said about applying some diplomacy when traveling abroad. Learned that in my 8 year stint in the US Navy as an enlisted man believe it or not. As an enlisted man I tried to influence other enlisted people to act more their age and less their shoe size when out and about both state side and abroad.

Good luck.

Hey @ohmikeguard If considering the Roush Axle-Back we have this listed here:

https://nemesisuk.com/collections/m...le-back-performance-exhaust-roush-2543-421834

With code: Mustang6g you can get a forum discount hopefully getting a better price for you.

We are unfortunately out of stock at the moment but should have our stock order arriving from the US on the 5th March.
Dam... I should have used that discount when I bought my Borla touring the other week.

Has anybody tried this system? Seems pretty good value for an active system, and I know Remus make good exhausts for some of the German straight sixes.
It’s not an active system it’s just a standard cat back So is actually massively over priced!

Seems to say it has an integrated valve but check out the fitting instructions PDF, no mention of hooking up and wiring a valve system at all.

Infact just read this bit, seems the valve bit is extra on top of the exhaust price!

An extra ÂŁ628 according to the Remus website!

I read this too over the weekend and you are correct. The videos all show everything installed, but its not one box of goodies.

All the extras and fitting is around ÂŁ2.5k (from Ford).

@Guy@NemesisUK - I would love to take you up on it, but I will need to go somewhere to get it fitted as i don't have the space where I live in London.

Hi and welcome. I bought a new exhaust from Nemesis a coupe of weeks ago. They have a list of recommended garages on the website and they can have the exhaust sent anywhere. Mine was sent to my garage of choice and I just rocked up and had it fitted.

Finding someone to fit it shouldn't be an issue. Loads of guys on here who'll recommend reputable places. Your biggest issue is if you want to keep the stock pipes in one piece. Most bin them however.

Hi @Splash, Let us know when looking to place your next order and will be able to carry the discount over for you I'm sure.

As most of the other have said. We are just a parts supplier and have a list of garages we can recommend nearest to you. It is a fairly simple task for a local/professional/reputable garage to install.

@Adam83

Did you get your Roush fitted by Ford or someone else? Are you sure that it wont void the warranty or have you just assumed?

Looks like I will be joining Team Roush!

Thanks everyone!

Excellent choice. Still one of my all time faves the Roush axle backs, you'll love it. That sound is basically the main contributor to me upgrading from an EB to GT!

Trust me you will be fine, been at a Ford main dealer for 18 years now and never seen a warranty claim refused because of a backbox change. I see plenty of cars with mods in for warranty work and not an eyelid is batted, the technician is there to get your car in and sorted as quick as possible they really don’t care what else you have on it.

The only time warranty may be refused is if an aftermarket part has caused something else to fail, like a remap, different engine parts etc. Backboxes and exhausts are fine as they would struggle to link this to any failure. Paint and bodywork warranty wouldn’t be affected either.

I fitted them myself on a ramp at work, it’s a 30 minute job at most when you have the car in the air.
