Impressive time considering lack of mods

Wheels tune and basic suspension

Quicker lap time than a Roush Jackhammer with 710hp

I suspect this guy can steer and steer real well
You know the Tickford guy won both the Formula Ford AND a Toyota series in NZ right?
For accuracy, the Tickford guy ran 2.7 seconds faster than a bloke who’s done “some” track days.
Our 2016 “hack” driver in his 15-17 had a set of BC racing coilovers under his car, an airbox, tune and some Continental 5P’s
Actual rwkw’s of that car, 280. Predicted engine power, less than a stock 18.
Driver mod would make up every last scrap of that gap and then some.

Or about the same time as a 200hp mx5

A guy (who shall remain nameless) ran a Harrop blown car there that same day and didn’t even get under 2.00.00.... driver mod is the greatest indicator of a cars potential at the track.
Driver mod on the Tickford car was impeccable. Without digging Senna or Brocks corpses out of the ground, they did well.
The strip is the ONLY place where they can prove the cars worth unfortunately.
Real world acceleration. No pulled fuses for the dyno, no correction factors applied, no strapping techniques, no thermometer placement etc etc.

Is it shocking that a professional driver can beat an amateur, even though the amateur is in a much faster car?

They seem to be releasing 1 a week

But with little to no information

I haven’t looked any further into this tune though, I’m not touching the driveline in mine, not even a filter.

A little birdie tells me that a customer recently went and had their car tuned by Tickford.
Unsurprisingly to most of us, it failed to make the numbers...
Apparently he received a refund. Not sure if he got to keep the tune and the warranty or if the tune was removed and warranty not offered.
Would suck to be now driving a “stock” car with a partially voided Ford warranty, that’s for sure.
Apparently they’re now revising the advertised numbers.
That’s as much as I know at this point.

'The 10-speed automatic typically reduces the maximum power output due to restrictions in the engine safety management.'

'The 10-speed automatic typically reduces the maximum power output due to restrictions in the engine safety management.'
That’s VERY interesting. Meanwhile Roush are offering a blown car with a heap more power than this and still retains a warranty :inspect:

Mind you, 375kw=510hp on just a tune is still not bad (especially as it’s not on the corn)

AUS$2750 = US$2000 is still quite a lot though
