Just heard back from the dealer. They have a Vin and production is set for July 30th!

Cotus says delivery date of 8/21. So close but so far!

Called Ford Performance this am for a status update and was told my car was in production and sent to the body shop. I’m concerned what that means. Hate to be spending 50k on a car that was buggered up in production and already has body work and repainting done. Or maybe it’s just some panel gap adjustment done as part of final inspection. Does anyone know if sent to the body shop is a routine part of final inspection or what. Ford Performance couldn’t elaborate on it. They did say my EDD is 7/15 - 7/17.

Mine stayed in the body shop for about 4 days before it finally finished production. Don't know what that really means though.

The inventory manager where I ordered my car said stripes are done in the body shop as well as spoilers added there. I have the PP1 spoiler so maybe that’s all there is to it. A back up of cars in the body could have explained the 4 days. Is this on the new Bullitt?

So while we're talking rebates and incentives, I want to bounce what my deal was off of you guys and see if its good. I think we did really good but its my first time buying/ordering new from a dealer so give me some feed back.

We ordered 2019 GT Premium w PP1, 400a (in Kona Blue!). Originally tried to order 2018 but it was too late like several of you had. MSRP on the 19 is $44,250, dealer invoice is $41,927. They took $1000 off from invoice b/c we bought a truck the day b4 we ordered the 18, and since the 19 is $156 higher, they are eating that cost. So out of the gate I'm at $40,771. And they are guaranteeing we'll get at least $1000 off for rebates and more if they're higher when it arrives on August 22. So my before tax, title tags price is $39,771. My dealer, Hunt Ford in Franklin KY, charges NO doc/dealer fees, so thats the price - $39,771 (at most).

Thoughts?

Yes, $1,156 under invoice with no fees is a great deal. You should be very happy with that.

Awesome. I thought it was, but dealers just have such a bad reputation in general that I was very skeptical with everything, especially having no experience with any dealer in the past. My sales guy was really cool and he likes to say it's best to be transparent with people because they already have their guard up. So I'm pretty happy and very excited for it to come in

Yeah, so no stripes or spoiler.
I also discovered that what Ford refers to as the body shop is where the sheet metal components of the body are assembled, welded together and sealed prior to going to the paint shop. Today is my cars blend date, hence the first day of production (when the car is blended into the production line) so it makes sense that the body shop would be where the build is started and not an after the fact body shop repair due to a defect during the process. Well at least that makes me feel better that the car is probably not having damage fixed in the “body shop”.

I'd imagine the body shop would be where the body of the car comes together too lol

I doubt Ford runs into too much rework.

Ford performance said blend date is the target completion date. Considering my blend date was Tuesday, notice up awaiting transit was yesterday, and in transit today, that lines up.
