WOW impressive numbers coming from the 2018 GT. I remember my 2013/2015 GT's needed a tune+longtube headers+cai to get near 450whp. Cant wait for my 2018 to arrive.

I have a couple of questions regarding some comments in this thread though...

What's the difference between the BDX and NGauge? Can you get a Lund tune on the BDX?
Are E85 Flex Fuel tunes from Lund now available for the 2018?
Are the 2018 internals (rods&pistons) any stronger than the 15s, 16s and 17s?

Lund tunes using SCT BDX or NGauge. Both have their pros and cons, but the forum seems to prefer the NGauge. The SCT unit is more of a handheld flashing unit, with limited display and mounting options. The NGauge can be mounted in a current circular gauge or vent location, to give it a stock look. NGauge can also be daisy chained, to allow more sensors to be displayed at a time.

Flex fuel tunes are currently available from Lund. lonmon is running this.

The internals of the latest Coyote are a bit different (cylinder wall coatings, cooling passages, etc), but I would say the most significant change is having port and direct injection. This allows better fuel atomization and more precise combustion control. Here is a good thread on the engine teardown: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95638&highlight=2018+Engine

I have a BDX and no canned tunes yet. I just had Lund send me one. Well, actually 3. 93 tune, flex tune, and e85 only race tune. :headbang:
this is the same i would like to get.. not sure if i would want the BDX or the ngauge. i dont really want to put the gauge in a vent so it would be on the suction cup which i dont feel id like all the time. so was leaning to BDX

I am sort of leaning in the same direction. Here in the south, I need all the vents I can get. It's damn hot in summer.

Flex fuel is also available from Palm Beach Dyno so there are options my tune has been working great and making good power I have been running it for about 1000 miles so far.

The BDX works great and can display all kind of sensor data as well. I use mine to flash and thats it. It stays in my center console. I don't like having wires plugged under my dash and run around. Most of the info you really want to see is right on the vehicles center display. You need to data log for any of the info to really do you any good anyway. If your into a fancy looking extra gauge in a vent go for the NGauge. The main benefit of the Ngauge is the flashing time is much quicker than the BDX. I believe the NGauge will also give you a ethanol content which I do not believe the BDX can. However the NGauge only reads up to 70 something percent so I'm not sure how helpful that is. The BDX takes about 5-10mins to flash a tune which is not unreasonable to me. I have always had great experience with SCT devices so I decided to stick with them. That is just my opinion and reasoning for what its worth!

Local shop dynos lower with 18 GTs but have an 18 A10 that rapes cars on the track and it has a tune only, not even E85. It has run an [email protected] as I hear it. I think it dynoed something like 420rwhp/390rwtq SAE.

Very interesting. My 18 A10 dynod 425 / 402 stock tune and despite not visiting the track yet no way she's running 11.6. Hoping to see some big numbers once the 18 version of the FP pp3 comes out. If not then explore other tuning options.

This info on the Ford Performance Parts site might be useful for folks comparing dyno results. https://performanceparts.ford.com/download/pdfs/EnginePerformanceTechTips.pdf
This thread isn’t meant to compare different dynomometer measurements, it was meant to show what options are out there and display the deltas with each one. It should also be noted that final gains aren’t everything. How the power comes across in the rpm spectrum is also something to look at.

Here is my dyno showing my best 2 runs with the Lund flex tune vs my 15 setup on GT350 IM. Both on e85 and same dyno. Red line is the 15. Peak power is very close but look under the curve! 18 is a beast for CAI, e85, and tune only.

Awesome... Just had Lund unlock my nGauge (previously used on GT500) and ordered e85 tune for my new 10r80 '18.

Let the games begin!

this is interesting.. seems under 6k RPM the 18 has an advantage then above 6k rpm they are near even. of course the 18 seems better for torque.

Yeah, Jon from Lund said the 18's with 3.15 gears seem to fall off a little up top because of the gearing in 7th having issues spinning the drum. He said the 3.55 cars were more accurate. He said his car went 124mph at the track and then only made 420whp on the dyno, lol. I'm sure a lot of the under curve gain is a combo of the manifold difference and the extra compression/engine differences. I expected to see the 18 drop off a little up top compared to the GT350 IM. Even still its only a few hundred rpm and a small difference in hp in that range. I actually prefer shifting a bit earlier to keep away from the stock oil pump gear danger zone. LOL. I am still wondering what the 18s will do with the GT350 IM. I have one but don't want to put it on unless it is truly worth it. Waiting to see a few other people try it first or wait for the Bullet cars to start getting modded.
