Maybe the full shipping weight is 30?Yes is between 31-33lbs.
I received a message from Shelby store saying they are 30lns each.
On the web site is showing 24.7lbs for 20x10.5 but I have no idea how is a 19 inch wheel could be 30 lbs.
If they are 30lbs each than no way in hell they are worth $2k.
As the price of CF wheels keeps coming down, I am rethinking the use of an aftermarket wheel for the street. My only reservation is that I would not want to waste cup2's on the street and the thought of tendering CF wheels to do a tire swap makes my skin crawl. I have heard stories of installers screwing up CF wheels despite any and all assurances. My train of thought, I would not install lesser quality wheel than the OEM. The reputable brands are expensive for a reason. You get what you pay for.
I wasn't trying to imply buy the same OEM. Only, if I did get a spare it would be of the same quality or better and not necessarily because of the build material. I would certainly go with a reputable company along the lines of forge line which are costly. As the price of CF wheels keeps coming down, I am rethinking the use of an aftermarket wheel for the street. I initially started searching for street wheels and quickly got over it. If I do something bad enough to really jack up the rim I have insurance and the price has come down - if I curb them - that's on me for being careless. That said -- I've been told by no fewer than 4 shops, including 3 Ford dealers, that they did not want to provide any guarantee with regard to not damaging the wheel during a tire change. 2 of them flat out told me they would rather me not bring it in for a tire swap. Ford dealers.... smhAs the price of CF wheels keeps coming down, I am rethinking the use of an aftermarket wheel for the street. Did you have track time on your rubber? 10K miles is amazing for SC2's. I drove mine and at 6700 cord was showing. They did have three track days on them though.I initially started searching for street wheels and quickly got over it. Cup2s on the street will make you cringe if you hate the sound of rocks hitting the car lol... but once you get over that.. no big deal ;). Once I put in the rock blockers I noticed a substantial decrease in pebbles thrown from the front tires at the rear hips... now it's just underbody getting smacked with parking lot pebbles. Stay away from construction zones when possible etc.
As long as you don't plan to drive in the rain or cold (or commute with the car) they're fine.
With factory alignment I put +10k on a set... yes they were well worn - but not corded and plenty grippy when warmed up. After about 7-8k you have to change your shifting/braking/cornering habits when pushing, though.
But - given your stable - I would assume you're not planning to hit more than 5k/car/yr
They're super deep concave. That's the only way they're able to fit around the rear brakes and should clear the caliper by about 2mm. Forgestars are good wheels. I've seen them get the fvck beat out of them. I've also seen $3000 CCW's break right in front of my eyes. Any wheel is a wear part forged or not. Just be mindful. Frankly...you're going to be more than fine whether it's Forgestar, Forgeline, OEM, Vossen...whatever.Pictures are pretty low quality. Are the front and back concaved?
