Ordering my new 18

So im about to finish up the ordering on my new 18 GT. Been reading around as much as i can about reviews already and what some owners like or dislike about the car and its options.

I have mine currently setup as a GT PP2, active exhaust, in orange fury.

Read mixed reviews on the magnaride system saying that its not as good as people think, or that its not meant for track use?

I also have a question on the active exhaust, as it is one of the things i could probably live just fine without, but on the test drive i found it as a pretty nice/ cool feature. Curious to see what companies will come out with catback/axle backs that will work with the active exhaust. Even if i keep the stock mufflers on it, headers and midpipe should be a good increase in performance and sound?

Magnaride is included in PP2 so if you don't want it you don't want PP2.

I definitely want the magnaride, just want to do some more research/homework before i pull the trigger on it. Like to hear all sides on everything before i make a decision haha.

As for the coolers on the trans and rear end, is it an option to add those myself? The only aftermarket coolers i see are for autos. I know the gt350 uses a different trans so not sure you could equip that to a new gt.

This car will also be a daily driver, for a while anyway, so as far as track focused its not going to be running races every weekend. However, i tend to like overdoing things for whenever the occasion comes about, im good to go

howlins, here's the dates they you should know. Unfortunately dealers don't take time to even look at these things to inform the customers.

So it would be a 19 model then? On Ford's site it still shows 18 in the configuration. Off those dates it should be a 19 today?

Not sure how true, but I was told those dates aren't fixed in stone, and that my 3/7/3018 order should still be ok. Fingers crossed!

Quite likely your's will be a '19 model. But, one never knows for sure. If it were me I would wait until the '19 "Build and Price" site is up, and running before I ordered. There are no major changes between the years (rev match will be included on the manual transmission), and there is a new color coming (a green I think). Again asking the dealer may be futile, but I would ask them anyway. I ask mine about the build out dates, and he had no idea. I had to tell him.

It could be. I have a lot of C7 Corvette friends, and they do enjoy the rev match. Purist have a different idea, but if I had a manual I think I would like it also.

Im sure they will have an option to turn it on and off, a good heal-toe is always more satisfying but having the option to turn it on is nice.

Ford takes forever to update the build and price tool on the website. If you want an 18, you can have the dealer try and order one. If those dates are true, order won't go through and you would have to order a 2019.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the rev match. I got annoyed with it on the '18 SS 1LE I drove, and finally just turned it off. Easy enough if it's just a toggle switch. I can't force myself to keep my foot on the floor for the no lift shift either. Old habits die hard I guess. If my '18 order doesn't get scheduled, I'll just order a '19. Hopefully, they won't jack the prices up much, but I doubt there'll be any rebates for awhile. Seems odd that they don't put the PP2 on their build site, and then give you a whopping 6 days to order once they do.
