its definitely cool on accel, but is very gutless in shift feel, which is also good, but just not "fun."

The only way I'd make a switch from M6 is if it was going to be at the drag strip, A LOT. I test drove the A10, it was cool but I still didn't care for how it shifted. It would be great for a daily in heavily congested areas. There is no way I'd ever be able to live with myself driving an auto on a cruise up and down the mountains.

Finally drove the 18 a10 pp car and it's up shifts were crisp. I really liked it but probably not enough to give up the m6. The exhaust note is so much better too

let a good tuner get hold of this a-10 and put a decent stall speed with a sticky tire> I bet it will hit 11.5 with no other mods, that's a game changer!!!!

Not enough to be gapping it the 10 speed comes into play for that

You sure? The 18s are underrated in hp and tq. I'd bet you could gap with either the M6 with a good driver or the A10. People act like the 10 speed is the holy grail of transmissions. I'm not buying it. No doubt, it is probably pretty good, but not what people are making it out to be.

I have some numbers in mind before I would convert to an auto -- but this transmission is a big leap in that direction, for sure: To go from a sub-five-second-to-60 manual to an auto, I'd want something that can get to 60 in under three (3) seconds: Tesla fast. I've seen some owner real-world tests where they are still getting to 60 in the low five second range -- so much of it comes down to the conditions, and whether or not you're able to test all day without a care about maintenance costs: magazine numbers are achieved without any regard for the longevity of the car. Most of the time on the street, it's not going to be much of a difference -- there are stock '15 V6's under 6 seconds, I think.

I'm inclined to agree with Ebm here, and that as good as the 10A probably is, gear count all by itself may be fueling unrealistic expectations.

That seems especially likely after watching the run from a roll in that video. There wasn't any "gapping" going on there, so what you can take away from that video is that the 10A's advantage in most street driving "competitions" is most likely going to happen coming off the line from a full stop.

Somewhere I have the 10A ratios, and sometime I'll get around to upgrading my gears and rpms vs speeds spreadsheet from 6 speeds (max) out to 10. I think it'll prove interesting to compare the 10A against the 1.00:1 5th-gear MT-82.
