Today I ordered my dream car: GT convertible, lightningBlue, midnightblue, 401A, activeExhaust, safe and smart and spoilerDelete. Put down the deposit.

My dealer told me that retail order should be faster than stock order. Earlier he had put in priority code 19, but after i insisted, he talked to a Ford rep and changed it to 10. Is it correct that retail orders come in faster than stock?

Sorry if this topic has been discussed elsewhere. If so, can you please point me to it. Thanks.

Thanks..I am not familiar with OK to buy. Can you please elaborate?

Also the dealer said expected time should be in 8-12weeks. Is that reasonable or optimistic?

Ok to Buy is issued after the initial stock orders passing the QC, for 2018 model year it was issued on Oct 25th 2017.

oh that's great. Luckily i trusted the dealer with the retail order instead of insisting on stock order. One time trusting dealer worked!

Orders are moving quick now, I bet you'll have a vin # in 2-3 weeks. Bug your dealer after the holidays.
Its been a couple of days since my order but I still cant see anything on COTUS, just no vehicle found. I have order# and dealer#, but obviously no VIN. Is this normal?

Cotus has been flaky lately. Sometimes you need to try submitting your information multiple times before it will return a result. I just tried mine and it took four tries to get a result.

It looks like they have a problem that is causing lookups in their database to fail the majority of the time. I'd guess that they have a bunch of hung database sessions and it doesn't work until you hit the server in their web farm that still has a working connection.

Exactly what I'm thinking, that's why I tripled the retry on my script. LoL

Yeah, we just have to hope that they notice the problem before the last working server hangs.

Just register with my auto checker and it'll notify you when it sees your order on cotus, and order number is the four digit code, which might include an alphabet in it, the dealer code is always an alphabet with another five digits.
