Don't have the video done yet but figured I'd share a little info

last night we were able to take our 2018 Mustang GT and going on our dyno at the shop

The car is a 400 a package automatic a10 with 3.15 gears

The car had about a 120 miles on it it had actually just shown up from Indianapolis The dealer trade drivers actually dropped it off at the shop so technically not even signed up on the car yet lol but what the back

Of note the car arrived to us from Indianapolis in Cincinnati averaging 28.5 miles per gallon. Not too shabby for AV8 sports car

Due to the factory rather limit or we were capping out about 6K and 140 mile an hour and 7th gear which is your 1 to 1

Initial impressions we were very happy with the car we made a few pullls hot off the street around 220ďľź And saw about 389 wheel

We let the car cool for about 20 minutes to get temps down to about 180 and we also through a little octanium in with the 3/4 Tank of your just to take octane out of the equation

The attached graph is an overlay of our 2015 with about 30 miles on it when it was bone stock as an automatic 6r80 car with 355 gears

Peak we picked up about 50 rear wheel horsepower and 45' pounds of torque but you'll note at 6K the car is up about 64 wheel and 58 ft' pounds of torque

The automatic car is definitely fun I haven't got to drive a ton yet but the transmission seems very responsive

I'll try to update thread later with more picks and video

Now this seems a bit more reasonable. Thanks for sharing.

What’s the plan for getting past the speed limiter barrier to get a full pull?

I'm confused ... For clarification purposes your saying the 2018 put down 389rwhp? In addition the graph you included is that of a 2015 mustang?

^^ I think initially 389. Then cool down and it hit 401.99. The graph is the 18 and the 15 combined, overlay.

we'll probably have lund do a stock file for us with just the limiter removed

4th in the 15, 7th in the 18, 7th is a true 1 to 1 on the 18

Should average the 3 major dyno tests out so far. The truth is somewhere in the middle I would think. Different conditions, different cars. There are too many variables to say one test is garbage. What we do know is the car runs a 12 flat stock without any mods, sticky tires, or weight loss. That's really kick ass.

I love my '16, but there's a lot to like about the '18, other than the price. But if you take the cost of the basic add ons that we're putting on our cars to get the same results we'd be in the ballpark of same money spent when it's said and done.

Nice addition to the family, though.

What the hell is wrong with all of you guys?

Post the damn Dyno sheet showing RPM and the correction factor. Also try dynoing in a lower gear so we can see the shape of the curve to redline, even if torque across the board is down, there is still a lot to see. :frusty::frusty::frusty:

2015 3.55 and 4th gear pretty much equal the gearing of the 2018 7th gear 3.15.
So pretty good comparison.
Did the same SAE correction factor was apply to the 2015 like it seem to have been for 2018?
Looking forward to see a 7th gear pull with only speed and transmission 7th gear rpm limiter remove!!

You miss the point, they don't wanna know the NUMBERS they want to see the full power curve right up to redline.

Exactly. Thank you.

So if his peak in 7th gear was 389whp @6,000RPM (why not post that graph?) And now the peak is 383/386 @7,000RPM, what was the power in 6th gear at 6,000RPM? If it was 20whp lower (369whp) then it would be safe to assume you can add ~20whp to the 383/386whp peak figure to determine how much power the 2018 actually makes. It's not that complicated :frusty:
