A new Camaro 1SS is a performance per $ beast. It absolutely smokes Mustang GTs on a drag and a track, and even compares to a GT350.
Yeah, but personally I just couldn't live the camaro interior/exterior. I will admit that the performance per dollar is definitely there as well.

Are you talking about 6th gens? I would definitely have to disagree with you on the exterior. As for the interior, the 1SS is pretty basic. Get the 2SS if you need a premium interior.

Yep 6th gens. My friend has the 2SS Fifty yr edition camaro. Hate his interior and exterior. Stock to stock his car was faster and handled better, but his 2017 Fifty camaro cost 10k more than my 2016 cali special.... I've since put a little over 10k in mods on my car, and my car is faster and also handles better. I wouldn't buy a camaro because it seems more like a "sidegrade"... I would definitely move up to a vette, tho.

EDIT: mistakenly wrote 2016 camaro instead of 2017

Its a decent deal yes. It will outrun the CURRENT GT in the 1/4 stock to stock. IT will NOT take a GT350 on the track or in the 1/4 even. Get to your local track more often and stop reading magazine times.

The next part of this is that you want a GT to compare. Ok. Well you will have to pay for those upgrades. Magna ride ? Pay. Active quad exhaust ? Pay. Better PP package ? Pay. Engine upgrade ? Pay. Transmission upgrade ? Well by now you should get the gist.

The 18 Mustang will be a beast properly setup, and will compare to the comp. But for this tech you will have to pay. Yes even more than what you paid in 17. The upgrade to the engine and tranny alone will be worth the price admission. If you do not want those things, well simply do not order them.

With the 18, you can easily set the car up how you want it to be, but as I have said before, you want to hang with the BMW's and Camaro's your going to have to pay for it. Your not paying for a Mustang, your paying for the TECH in the Mustang.

Yes, that's what I said. It will smoke any current, past or present, GT. It will also keep up with the current GT350.

2016 Camaro SS:
Car and Driver: 12.3 sec @ 116
MotorTrend: 12.4 sec @ 114.6

2016 Mustang GT350:
Car and Driver: 12.5 sec @ 119
MotorTrend: 12.4 sec @ 117.8

So there you have it. I have actual facts, you have "SHOW UP AT THE TRACK, BRO". Please quote me where I said it will beat a GT350.

I am objective here, while you are the fanboy. That's cool though, you do you.

I am no way a "Fan Boy" or even close. I basically said stop reading MAGAZINE times, which you clearly went to as your authority of what the car can do. I said get to your local track because THAT'S where you can see what the cars ACTUALLY do in the hands of drivers. 12.5 and 12.4 lol....In the HOT FLORIDA HEAT i'm running 12.1. STOCK. So I guess i'm some kind of unicorn then...that said I have seen Camaro's and the CURRENT Mustang run better than that magazine time.

You clearly did not read what as posted as I said the current 17 Camaro is a great deal and a good performer, in stock form. I am saying here and now the 2018 Mustang will be just as good as the Camaro in STOCK form. Again get to the track and stop reading magazine times.

BTW "current and present" = the same....

Cool Meme Brah.....

But I stand by what I said. Better yet, what do YOU run in your car ? Have you ever been to the track even ? I ask because people hell bent on what car n driver does in a car usually never do anything in their own.

Are you talking about a drag strip or a road course track?
Big difference and not hard to be clear about.

One thing to consider is that the GT350 comes from the factory with better tires than the camaro.

I don't understand the hate on magazine reviews. Sure they are not representative of "you" or your normal driving, but most of us don't have the chance to take every car we may be considering buying out to a track and push it real hard. Most of us will get to do one or two test drives around town and maybe push it just a little before the salesman gets nervous. Magazine reviews allow you to compare a data set that would otherwise be unavailable. Does it tell you everything? Of course not, but it is valuable data.

People only like it when their car is the fast one in the magazine metrics.

Magazines are never apples to apples comparisons. They have different drivers running in different conditions. It is hard enough to run a semi controlled study on the same track and the same day. I know, because I have blown over $200k of a testing budget on this sort of thing. The only way you see real results is with many more data points.
