Hey guys so I need some help. I was idling in my garage and noticed a loud clicking sound. My fans weren't on, it wasn't the "startup clicking", it was as if my fan blades were hitting plastic (weren't on however). Poked my head in and it seems to be the component in the pulley located right above the downpipe, down and behind the turbo. Furthest left and downward wheel, small size. Anyone know what that is and should I be worried? The click pattern matched the white lettering on the belt in terms of interval so I know it's that.

Reads as though your air conditioning compressor clutch bearings ...PB Blast it then run as normal and see if it stops ticking if so the bearings dried up from all of your winter driving in canuckland ...

Canuckland? And good to know. Couldn't figure out what that was down there. I'll see if that works!

To be fair it's damned close. Of course I always thought of proximity to Canada as one of the pros of living in northern Washington.

I think I noticed this same issue (sounded like rhythmic tapping of plastic, not a pinging of metal) the other day under very similar circumstances (idling and I was outside the car) But mine seems to have gone away I believe. Did yours fix itself too?

Mine is still present. Might just take it in and see what they come up with.
