I noticed that you can open the gas tank without the key from the outside. Does anyone have access to this? Or is there some lock mechanism in the inside that prevents anything going in the tank without the key fob?

I thought those would only work with the last gen Mustangs, not the s550. It even says so on the list of compatible vehicles. Or did anybody try this yet on the current gen?

No it won't work. Ford has not designed one for the S550 yet.
I wish I could just remove the assembly and use a locking gas cap.

I've heard aftermarket funnels won't work on our cars. I've looked on several other forums and they all say the same thing. Ford designed the Easy Fill system to make it extremely difficult for people to either siphon or try to pour foreign liquids down there.

And I don't doubt this is true. It's already hard enough for me to pump gas sometimes. The nozzle from the pump has to fit perfectly in order for me to get gas out of the pump. I occasionally have to turn the nozzle upside down or sideways for the nozzle and pump to work. Crazy.

Interesting since I don't recall ever having a problem with pump nozzles with either my 2012 (20K miles before trade) or my current 28K 2015 other than once in awhile a nozzle won't allow full flow but that can happen with our 97 GT also. Both were refueled in states as far west as Nebraska and as far north as NJ. I live in NC.

Take the car back to Ford dealer if you're having issues getting fuel into the car - bumper to bumper warranty should cover any work needed.

Weird I've never had any issues like this ever. I'm able to pour Lucas fuel clean in there as well without any problems

This is incorrect. I use a 5 gallon jug of E85 when I race. I fill up at the track with a generic red plastic gas can with the yellow funnel. Never had an issue getting fuel in the car. Never tried to siphon fuel out.

It probably isn't normal lol. I probably should take it into the dealer, but I'm nervous they will mess something up.

I haven't tried putting any thing in mine, but played hell getting seafoam in the wife's '15 Explorer till I figured out how to get the flap to open.

it comes with a funnel(located in the trunk) in case you need to use a gas can. but its supposed to be hard to put a hose in there.(like to siphon out fuel)

Is absolutely no problem to get a hose in.

Getting the hose out is a little tricky - need to use a screwdriver to push open the 2nd flap, otherwise it catches the hose and you can't pull it out - scared me for a second there.

Now I only stuck it down about 8 inches, not sure if there is some sort of anti-siphon protection further down.

My wife's Edge requires the use of the included funnel to get by the flaps. Not our cars, you can push them open with a regular funnel, your fingers (or a hose...), whatever.

You are correct, this will not work on 2015 and newer Mustangs. I had this on my 2014 and can verify it will NOT fit 2015, 2016, or 2017 Mustang...interesting side note, it will fit my 2015 Explorer though.
