First ecoboost and otherwise new to turbos.......have a 2016 eco with PP so I have the boost gauge. What should my boost number(s) be showing on my gauge. I can't seem to get past about 10 no matter how I drive it.

You definitely should see more than 10 lbs of boost. Might have a boost leak somewhere.

looking at my gauge it goes from 30-0 then 0-30.....at idle I am between 10 and 0....I am assuming that is negative boost (vacuum) no matter how hard I drive it I only get about 1-12 (positive?) boost/vacuum.

I cant help you(much)... My stupid boost gauge is reading bar and have no idea how to change it to psi lol.
From what i heard the stock car should run around 14-15psi and then with WOT push as high as 18psi. In some cases i have ready 20psi. But i cant tell or test this myself as my car is bar. and only hits about 1.2bar which is i think 18psi.
If you are just hitting 10psi you def have a leak though.

Hmmm, never happens. Could there be something wrong with my turbo? How could I tell?
I was joking lol... the others have it right.. you shouldnt have a problem reaching 20 if you floor it

I asked the same question a while back and received no response. 10 is about all I've ever gotten, and I keep wondering if thats why the car feels so anemic. I always thought it was just the electric gauge, this is the first time I've seen anyone else mention it, especially with the PP gauge. Do you get surging at part throttle?

Does it look like this except with the PP gauge?

10-12 is low even for stock. I'd look for a boost leak. Check your clamps on the charge pipes.

Its hard to tell, having never driven another one to know if it running properly (turbo-wise) or not. Also, having never owned a turbo car, I don't know what to listen for, etc.

I traded in a mazdaspeed3 which is a very similar motor, but not a twin-scroll turbo. That car pulled way harder than the mustang, even stock with "supposedly" 40hp less. It had heatsoak problems too with an undersized top mount intercooler but it never felt all around weak at every RPM like the mustang does. I figured a tune would solve the way this car seems to be, but maybe there is actually something wrong with it. I know back in the summer I did some 0-60 runs with the built in dash gadget and the best I could get was around 6.9-7.4 seconds.

One thing is the parallax error on the boost gauge is terrible and having it that far away and pointing straight back makes it even worse. Unless you lean way over to the middle of the car, almost to the passenger's seat, you can't even read it accurately.

My bet is if you think it is reading 10 psi, it might be closer to 5 psi. You probably have a boost leak and you'll want to check that quick. Many of us with 15s had the charge pipes blow off. With the charge pipe off the car is a pig and you don't want to try to fool with that on the side of the road in the winter.

what conditions are you testing this? What gear... what rpm? Try a 3rd or 2nd gear pull from 3000rpm.
