So , wanting to stay as OEM as possible for my cold weather set of wheels I went with the ford racing PP wheels , notice the finish is satin compared to the OE gloss black . (My car came with nickle PP wheels)

I like them .

I also know going with an all season vs dedicated winter is kinda frowned upon , but the weather here is more cold and wet vs snowy , and I don't ever have to drive in the snow unless I get "caught" out .

I'm not far from you, but I'll probably look into getting a high quality pair of A/S to replace the below average Pirelli Summer Tires. I've read that the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus give comparable and even better handling, but are on the expensive as shit side.

Those look great too, though I think I prefer the gloss.

Actually looking at the pic , I should give them a wipe down .

I ran the Michelin Pilot sport A/S on my last car (Mazdaspeed3) . They were pretty good, but treadwear was a tad below expectations , and they got NOISY .

Shit, that's cheaper than I've found. Since making this post, I've been back pedaling on the statement haha.

It seems like the Michelins are the only tires that are actually better at handling and traction compared to the pirellis, where the BFG and Continental are not quite there. For the price though, I may have to make some sacrifices lol

Michelin are king but their pricey

If you can give up just a bit the conti and BFG are great for the price

I may have to! Can I run a 255/45/19 and a 275/45/19 on the stock PP wheels? What kind of differences am I looking at?

I also wish there was some data with HOW much performance I will be losing by going from the Pirelli's to high quality a/s (I think the Pirellis suck).

Conti DWS an excellent tire. I've had better luck with them in bad weather than anyone I know with Michelin A/S tires. Their glaring downside is a soft sidewall, which makes the car handle a bit lazy. Can fill tire to 34 psi cold to alleviate but it's a little brittle then.

haha I don't doubt it, but I haven't been able to find the BFGs with the profile at 40 (at least on tire rack).
