Hi everyone

As you probably know here in the UK there's about a 9 month wait for our Mustangs.
Is there anybody on these forums that work at Flat Rock that can give us the heads up when right hand drive U.K. cars are scheduled for production.
I think a load of us would be interested.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

I've moved you query to the UK specific area. I appreciate you are asking if anyone works at Flat Rock, but you'll get a better response here. Firstly, you can contact Karen and Stacey at Ford for updates as to when your car might be scheduled.

I'm sure Manders will be along shortly. He's the font of all knowledge when it comes to this subject. But there are plenty of other knowledgeable folks in this section.

:)

How long do KAren and Stacey normally take to come back with a VIN number, I emailed just over a week ago, been keeping an eye on my spam folder just in case.

If you actually have a VIN, not long, VINS are usually assigned 2 weeks before production, but there are isolated cases of them popping out earlier!

Hi
I've read just about all the different posts, Iwas just trying to get an idea of what's happening at the factory, thought it would give us some idea on scheduling and through put.
Figured somebody at Flat Rock could let us know how many and when they work on the UK cars
Guess I'm a bit early for my car as I only ordered it 27 September

it's like 1 or 2 weeks of RHD production per month, the RHD are split with Auz orders too, also the LHDs are a bigger portion of export and home markets, winter generally production picks up for RHDs as exports are more frequent builds over the winter months when stock is still selling.

Heartworm bit of a voodoo art predicting when you'll get it, my assumption is about 4 months in at the current production times (well, 4 at quickest, 7 at slowest)

Isolated case:
Got my VIN on 16 September. Still no info about when the car is actually being build...

You checked research maniacs for a window sticker? If there's one with a blend date, and it's past that, should have been built, unless it falls into the "Damn, Flat Rock closed" boundaries.

My build date on Etis is 29/12/2015 so cars do get built when the plant is "closed". They brought them in on overtime last Christmas to catch up. The reason for this closure is more to do with them being ahead (partly market downturn and partly the move out of the Fusion from Flat Rock). It shouldn't significantly delay any of the current (measly ;)) wait times.

Some of the plant workers post on Facebook so you can find out some of what's going on. Downside is that you find out there are some angry people building your car. :)

Which of course mine did. SO window sticker for the 13th and no one can tell me anything more than its "in production" (from Karen and Stacey) Well COTUS told me that but i so dont trust Ford not to just shove it to the back of the line with the thinking "hell slot missed, back you go"

I think a few of us are in that boat....... having said that a boat of any sort is a long way away.
