I use Intercity, which only have enclosed trailers. Reliable has option for open trailer but I didn't even bother to consider that option. Heard good things about both companies, but i figured Jay Leno endorsed Intercity....it shouldn't be too bad.

Dont go cheap and save a few bucks. fyi, my quote is 1750 from IL to CA. Google map said it's about 19xx miles. Simple math tells me it's below $1/mile for enclosed trailer.

Broker companies quoted $1k for open trailer for the same car and same route. Also, enclosed could also be "open bottom trailer with top and both sides covered".

Nice!! Thanks for the info man. I'd prefer enclosed hopefully with no openings, reducing the chance of rocks or anything hitting the car during transport. Gonna mention that when I call. Sounds like I'll be using Intercity though.

I was in your shoes, and fxxking hate dealing with this BS. Buying a car should be fun and worry-free. We can see that 1700 bucks as dealer mark up...or just saving us few days and speeding tickets (from driving the car through few states). lol

Mine is scheduled to get loaded in a week from today, so should arrive at my place in 2.5 weeks from now. 700 miles is nothing...i would be surprised if your quote comes out to more than 1K

Yup that's what I'm thinking too based on the price ranges seen in the thread. I was told that mine would be 6 weeks minimum and it's got to get built. Going to put down the deposit tomorrow and really excited and looking forward to it. Hopefully I can sell my GT before I take delivery, lol.

oh so the car is being built and they sold you the car at MSRP before it actually gets to their lot? Deal is as good as a steal...lol

Mine is just sitting at the dealer waiting for the Intercity to pick it up.

Yup! Lol. I had just missed an opportunity to grab one 5 minutes away from me as someone came back today (they heard the dealer took away $20k ADM) and snatched it, so I got very lucky and found exactly everything I was going to get, except it's gonna be 700+ miles away lol.

How long do you think it'll take them to deliver it? Do they have multiple drivers or something that'll rotate? I wouldn't be able to sleep once I hear that my car's been loaded up.

So, what did your quotes end up looking like? My distance is similar to yours (around 650 miles), and Intercity and Passport quoted around $1080; I'm currently waiting to hear back from Reliable and Horseless Carriage, but I imagine they'll be about the same...

Gotcha. I haven't called just yet. Waiting for this dealership to take my deposit so that I know they're serious about MSRP and stuff. Hoping to be able to do it and call tomorrow. l keep you posted.

Just called Intercity and to get it shipped from Owings Mills, MD to Baton Rouge, LA (1175 miles) is gonna cost $1,695.00. :eyebulge::eyebulge:

Still waiting on Ford to call me and present me with the options they have in mind. Do you guys think it's going to be more expensive or think it'll be cheaper? Contemplating my options.
