The wind took my door the other week, despite it only making a light knock it left a pretty big scratch and dent in the car next to me, due to the door having a pointed edge. Luckily the women at work whose car it was has been pretty cool about it, but it's still going to cost me £275 to get it fixed. My car on the other hand only had a small chip on the pointed edge that made all the damage, so it's not too noticeable.

I find there's nowhere convenient to grab them as you get out when they're at that halfway stage of wanting to spring open or closed again. Awkward.
Seems to be the same with all big coupe doors.

Also, if your parking facing downhill the doors want to fly open. If parking uphill, the hinge wont hold them open, so if you don't watch your passengers like a hawk, they use their feet on your door card! Noooooooo!

ha forget big coupe, a 2 door Fiesta has the worlds largest doors....

Same happened to me in my old Steeda Fiesta and it smacked a car next to me (miles away!) at a car show for around £700 damage!

YES! My god, those doors are horrendously large. Anyway, i've had the same issue, girlfriend swung the passanger door open and it twatted her mums Audi, fortunatley no damage on either; but she got a bollocking for being careless... Ah the joys for her being in a 2 person 1 car relationship

Happened within half an hour of my pick up. Partner opened door, second spring took it and nearly punched a hole in the car next door. I take comfort from the fact that if anyone dings my car in a car park I have a weapons grade retaliation strategy.

In my 1968 parking bay sized car park at work I always make sure I put my fingers over the outside edge of my door upon opening to avoid trading paint with a neighbouring car.

Worst case scenario - fingers grow back, right?

The repairs were finally completed last week and she tells me someone has already pranged her other door
