Haaaaaaaahaaaaaaaa this is fking funny. Dude you rule!I was shopping with the wife today and noticed this promotion. Spend $100 or more and get a free Camaro! Anyway I kept my $100 bucks but I do think it's smart to give em away if you can't sell them.![]()

For the same reason people rally behind their home sports teams. You could argue that sports obsession is equally pointless, but it drives people to be massively competitive with each other and you can see the same behavior in car ownership. People just like their side to win, it doesn't matter what the subject is.I never understood why Camaro and Mustang owners give a rat's ass about sales numbers. Do you have stock in the company? If not, who cares? The Toyota Camry outsells both combined so does that mean we should all go out and buy Camrys? I've never factored monthly sales figures in my decision for a vehicle...
The better vehicle (performance, value, etc) is not based on how many are sold per month. Plus, wouldn't you rather have something a bit more exclusive that isn't populating 50% of every parking lot?
Fair point but I'd rather win in the performance arena. It's not like you can get smoked by a Camaro and then roll your window down to brag about how the Mustang sold 5,000 more vehicles in June 2016 and speed off.For the same reason people rally behind their home sports teams. If you want to win in the performance arena. Mod your car! Then you don't have to worry about getting smoked by Camaros. The SRTs have been faster than Camaro & Mustangs for several years. It was never an issue. Let the The Camaro crowd finally level the playing field and it's like the baby jesus handed down the car of the gods.Fair point but I'd rather win in the performance arena. But you can't win in the arena of performance. By any measure mentioned in this string, my 2012 991 S is "better" than a Camaro. It is faster, quicker, has a longer racing heratige, and has technology that Chevy will not have for a decade. It's all leather interior has a fit and finish that I have never seen in a muscle car. And it is far more exclusive. And this is not even talking about the 991 turbo or GT3.Fair point but I'd rather win in the performance arena. Generally, the model that sells more will also stick around longer so we can buy more of them, as well as good sales allowing said company to invest more in future models and make them continually better.I never understood why Camaro and Mustang owners give a rat's ass about sales numbers. No different than rooting for a sports team honestly. I'm not a brand loyalist so I honestly dgaf but it is annoying to see people make excuses constantly when the facts are there.I never understood why Camaro and Mustang owners give a rat's ass about sales numbers. The thing that makes it interesting is the S550 had a huge jump in sales when it was released. I think a few people expected the Camaro would see a spike in sales as well. Maybe not as large as the S197 to S550, but instead the Camaro has had sales decline. You can talk about profit per car, margins and all that good stuff all you want, but you don't release a new generation of a car that used to be the sales leader in it's class and hope it sells half of what it used to. In between the usual Ford Vs chevy jabs, it is interesting to to try and figure out why.I never understood why Camaro and Mustang owners give a rat's ass about sales numbers. People get competitive about all sorts of things. But the simple fact is car makers are in the business of making money. No sales no money, no money no product. Not just cars but with anything. Go try and buy a 2016 AMC and you will understand.I never understood why Camaro and Mustang owners give a rat's ass about sales numbers. Do you have stock in the company? If not, who cares? Mic drop.Sales matter big time. Why do you think the Camaro went out of production last time? Because it didn't sell.
