Think I have buyers remorse after hearing all this stuff about MT, as that's what I have, I normally like high speed driving, cruising, so I'm hoping it's not too bad, but now I wish I had waited till some other options appeared.

Don't feel bad about buying something that you wanted. I don't and I have a MT as well but the late spool doesn't bother me . I wanted a stock appearing turbo. No compromise on that aspect. With ATP and cavalli not producing, it was an easy decision. I think the cavalli will be more expensive anyway being triple ball bearing. I'm sure you made the best decision with the info you had, as did I.

Someone just run the damn thing. Dont be a sheep, own your purchase and see if it works for you. If not, sell it and move one. Just becuase it works/doesnt work for one person doesnt mean it will/won't for you.

As I keep messing with the car / turbo its getting better and better as far as spool. Ive now got it to go to 8 psi on the foot brake, and made 3 runs at the track in the evening and it was 96 degrees out. The track as crap, it spun the tire at the hit, and spun so bad on the 1 -2 shift it was going into 3rd, its now to the point where the car needs a good track to hook, especially on the 1 -2 shift when its at full boost. Managed a 12.06 at 119 mph even spinning and shifting straight into 3rd on the 1-2 gear change. Im confident the car will run 11.90s maybe even 11.80s with the stock convertor at 120 - 121 mph. Im sure I will have a chance to run the car one more time with the stock convertor in the car and on a prepped track. Once you guys get this turbo bolted on, if you are on the same page as your tuner, you can get this turbo to work well, but its not like the stock turbo which is effortless as far as spool time.

Thanks for the update sir  The turbo if tuned properly is honestly not bad to drive at all. It makes 10 psi extremely quickly, and I do not even notice the extra time to TQ when street driving. I think people are really just posting after going from the tiny stock turbo to something with a lot of capability in it as it does feel different on initial drive. Its not going to be the same turbo. Turbos are always a give, and take. You want stock spool, run the stock turbo, and leave power up top on the table. You want near stock spool, more power up top but still not as much power up top as our S2 pay $5K for a 7163 kit. If you want 500+WHP capable stock appearing for under $2K its a pretty obvious choice.

I dont see that it has not worked for no one yet, and ive run my car down the track with this turbo about 13 - 15 times. Have you got the chance to run your car yet ? How is the spool on the foot brake on yours, would like to know to compare to this turbo, it would help us figure out if yours spools much quicker and at a lower rpm in real world conditions. Thanks

Perfweld that's a great mph. Definitely an 11 sec car. Look forward to see you progress those times.

Here is a decent comparison on the dyno, which is not the street, but still worth comparing. GTX2867R Vs VTT Stage 2.

Lot of talk in another thread of the GTX2867R being more responsive. I will let you be the judge.

GTX graph is 93 pump, and 93 pump with meth. Pump only 383/404

VTT Stage 2 Red graph 93 pump only 380/409 basically these turbos spool exactly the same as you can see, they almost outline each others curves down low. The main difference is look at the S2 up top, its continuing to pull, and hold power flat all the way out to 7K. The 2867R is already starting to falling around 6K, and you can see the down trend.

The green graph is VTT S2 on 100% E85, its makes 462/460. I believe the GTX2867R might, and that is a big might do similar numbers on 100% E85, but the turbo is only rated at 475BHP not WHP so if you brought it up that range its running on the ragged edge. Our turbo is rated for over 560BHP. So at 500WHP you are in a nice efficient range in the compressor map.

The only purpose of this comparison is to show spool characteristics with a turbo that is actually rated at less power, and cannot hold power up top, the VTT Stage 2 spools nearly identical, and just keeps on pulling... All for sub $2K........

Bang meet buck, buck meet bang....:first:

Not to be a jerk to anyone, but real world is very important to me, im not gonna dyno, no interest, the dragstrip is my dyno. On my drive home with the Vargas Stage 2, I closely paid attention to the boost gauge in relationship to my RPM. In 6th gear on the freeway im at roughly 2k rpm, if I give it light throttle, it goes to 5 psi immediately again, this is at 2k RPM. If I give it a bit more than light throttle, the car downshifts and goes immediately to 10 psi and wants to take off from there, that is at 3000 RPM. This as ive said before, is a great turbo for a street car, freeway bomber, or even a drag car, but if you want to really lay down some good #s, you will need a looser convertor, and with that, you will need slicks as well cause you'll be leaving at full boost. Im not gonna give a full body massage with tension release to anyone like other sheep will, im not selling you nothing, dont care what you think of me, dont care what you buy, but I hate to see people bash this turbo, this is a good turbo, especially for 2k, the spool is just fine being that this is not the factory turbo, the more we keep working with it, the better it will get. Best part is I can roll into the dealer or the smog station and they wont say nothing.

Wait I thought this turbo doesn't use the stock turbo housing? You don't think a ford tech can notice?
