Ok good we have the same view of all these cars then.Don't worry, I am not abandoning my GT350 for the SuperSnake. I am keeping them all and I won't race my cars against each other.![]()
Each of those cars have a different mission in life. The Hellcat is a showroom stock drag monster, the best Year 2015 has to offer. The GT350 is a designed-from-the-ground-up production track rat by SVT (no debate on whether it is a "Real Shelby" please). The SuperSnake is a rough on the edge, unrefined car on steroid built in the post-title Shelby tradition. Each one is unique in its own way. Comparing them against each other is like comparing orange, tangerine, and grapefruit.
I am posting my view in support of the argument on why the Voodoo engine is a bad choice for supercharging, and why the Coyote makes more sense.
50rwhp with a k&n filter and tune.. Who gave you this load of bull?Recently had my 16 GT350 re-tuned after the installation of a K&N air filter. The custom tune gave an additional 50 RWHP. This is preferable to any forced air upgrades. If you must do a SC, I have demo'd the Vortech SC, and it was the quietest of the lot. If you like the factory exhaust note, the SC will change the dynamics somewhat.
You "demo'd" a Vortec? On a GT350? I'd love to see the results.Recently had my 16 GT350 re-tuned after the installation of a K&N air filter. The custom tune gave an additional 50 RWHP. We tuned our GT350 and while it would pull the wheels off the ground at the drag strip, we didn't pick up 50 rwhp. (and we've tuned a couple of Mustangs in our life)

BJ,
Good to see you here. Former GT500 owner and customer here. What mods were done to this car pulling the front wheels? What RPM on the side step? Looks like the stock tires...if so...that's damn impressive.
This is so old fashioned thinking. I mentioned this before lethals gt350 Whipple install and people called me dumb. You can boost high compression and make tons of power. They made 819rwhp.12:1 compression ratio... I dunno, man. That's pretty high for a blower application. Even the stock Coyote motor is pretty high and that's why many went with the lower compression ratio Aluminator motor when slapping on a blower.
Take it from me. I've dynoed it before and after. Save your money on the CAI. Trust me on this.i realize that it comes with a cai but you can at least replace the accordion looking intake tube with a better flowing piece and get some gains with a tune and maybe a slightly bigger maf housing and washable better flowing filter. i saw a video where ford had a better flowing piece on there for development. They probably cut it for costs.
I figured that was the case. Replaced the filter and called it good.Take it from me. I've dynoed it before and after. Save your money on the CAI. Trust me on this.
I hope this is sarcasm. If I was infinitely rich I would buy a gt350r and cut a hole in the hood with a giant weiand blower sticking out of it just to drive you people crazy.
Just wait until the voodoo comes in the standard GT in 2018 you'll all feel stupid about treating this gt350 like its so special
I'm at 529 RWHP with the following mods on my gt350.I figured that was the case. Replaced the filter and called it good.
