Why do the EB crew feel you have to justify your choice.
It's a mustang and everyone who sees it goes wow look at that Mustang!
Chill out and enjoy it.

I agree, no justification required. Most of the daily drivers opted for EB and I would have done the same. But mine's a weekend car and I opted GT. My cousin's car will be a daily car he still opted for GT, reason it's sound.
So everyone picks the car based on what his or her heart and/or mind agrees to.
I was talking to a chick at one of our client, she somehow find out that I was buying a Mustang and her opinion was EB is a muscle car without a muscle just because it's not a V8.
You can't stop what people say or think about EB or GT. I have been hearing a lot of negative about GT in my presence and behind my back, such as its about man ego, GT owners don,t care about planet and environment, blah blah blah. While the fact is one is practical and the other is something you want but can,t afford but sounds like music to ears.
A weekend GT driver probably does less damage to environment than an everyday EB drivers.
If someone is really worried about environment should either walk or buy a horse not even a push bike, skate board or public transport because anything else will involve some kind of environment damage in one way or other. This GT despite being V8 is way more efficient than millions of cars still on road on this globe and does way less damage to environment compared to those cars.
The moral of the story is if we start this debate, we will never be able to finish. So stick to your choice, stop criticising others choice and if possible respect it, stop listening to what others say about your choice, stop justifying your choice and enjoy the car you bought for a handsome amount of money.
And if I hear that environment thing about GT, I will laugh it off as usual because I take it as a compliment :D

I wonder how many of those people expressing their concern about the environment are getting around in 2 ton SUVs that have never been off-road.

For me, one of the pluses (not the reason) of owning a mustang is to wind up my green relatives and friends. While I am happy for everyone to have their own beliefs there is a smugness and general moral superiority attached to green types that irks me. For them I see this car as a big middle finger on wheels.

Most people who criticize for non-green car choice don't pay extra to get "green" power from their provider. The biggest greenhouse emission factor in Australia - double that of ALL transport in Australia is still Electricity generation.

What that means is that buying an EV in Australia is still contributing to the problem, unless you buy an EV and solar panels to power it, and even then, keeping your old car instead of buying that new Tesla would probably reduce emissions by a lot more!

It's like in Singapore where the Tesla is still slapped with a 'polluter' tax because their energy production isn't green either.

What's more, there's been some study recently that says EVs on average tend to be heavier than non-EVs, so they tend to have higher toxic emissions from wear - rubber from tyres, brake and road wear (not to mention those as a direct result of battery production, etc - at the moment not a huge problem, but wait until every car is an EV!).

The scary part is, they're not greenhouse gas emissions, they're stuff that directly kill people and poison the environment.

Jury is out!

Err, it's an explanation, not a justification, but I understand why that's usually the first assumption. The difference is one comes from a need to feel better about one's own choices, the other from a desire for greater mutual understanding about how our individual situations affect our buying choices. I do try to keep my comments chatty and jovial to indicate the context in which they are meant, but text is a medium well known for misinterpretation at the best of times.

Also, regarding the environmental stuff, I'm not going to engage especially not here, but please consider that it's about change in small degrees adding up, not about selling up and moving to a shack in the bush. I'm sure you all know that.

They really do look good Aus.

So they are 10's up front and 11's at the rear I imagine. What tyres / sizes are you running ?

Any plans on a suspension tweak too ?

Correct 19x10 F and 19x11 R. I am running 275/35/19 and 295/30/19 I can run up to 285/35/19 and 325/30/19 however sourcing tyres was a little difficult.

I have some suspension gear to stop the mustang from bouncing around but I don't plan on lowering it unless Melbnut convinces me otherwise.
