My ride only has 4500 miles on it. I don't see any swirl marks, and have keep it clean and only using virgin microfiber towels etc.
Would just claying the car be enough before putting on a coat of quartz uk? Of course, after clay, another wash, and then a 50/50 alcohol / distilled water clean. Then the cquartz.

I would do a light polish on it after since clay is slightly abrasive. That way you're guaranteed a smooth, shiny surface for the sealant.

I had my brand new truck done with Cquart Finest. They did a full polish, buff and paint correction. (Of course with Cquartz Finest, the paint's oils have to be removed.) Then, 2 applications through the exterior of the truck, including headlights, black trim and wheels.

What's the point of cquartz besides waxing less?
What did your truck cost to apply the cquartz?
What do they not coat?
How long does it last?
And what happens when it starts flaking off? How do you remove it? Sand it off?

The kit cost me 80 bucks. The point for me, since I will be driving a 130 mile commute each way, would be looking good with less effort. (Once on). From what I gather, it never "flakes off", but rather prolly gets UV'd to death over time, might need a re-application in a few years.

Whatever your current paint looks like now will get sealed under the cquartz, so if you think it looks good now, then you should be happy with the results.

Though, any corrections you do now will only enhance it. The person who put my ceramic pro on did a light polish 1st, but not a good enough one to take care of some clearcoat scratches on my trunk lid. They're sealed under the ceramic pro for as long as it takes for to stuff to wear off. Luckily, Magnetic hides clearcoat issues well

^^This should probably answer your questions.

I'm not going to tell you how much I was charged for my detail job/paint correction/Cquartz Finest. lol It cost A LOT! I will tell you this though,......the materials alone cost 250 bucks, so you can kind of figure it out from there. It was A LOT! :eyebulge: lol
All oils have to be gone from the paint before applying the Cquartz Finest. If not applied properly or taken off properly, it will leave a layered effect on the paint. That is why I left it to the professionals.

I just had my GT done in cquartz finest and it came out great, really love the deep gloss/reflections. They do a lot of prep work to make the paint as flawless as possible. I only have 3500 miles on my 2016 but it still needed some work.

It's not cheap, it cost me $795 but for me it was worth it. I also had them do a full bumper cover in Xpel Ultimate and wrap the roof in black gloss, so I spent much more than the $795.

They coated all painted surfaces including my rims. They also go over the Xpel and the black vinyl so they get the benefits as well. If you ever want to remove it before it wears off the car you have to buff the car out (not sanded). There is a two year guarantee on the coating but it can last much longer if you garage the car and apply their "reload" product a few times a year. It goes just like detailer and wipes off so its very easy to apply. You can get 5 years out of this product if you take care of the car.

^^THIS!!
I ordered the RELOAD. Just waiting to wash the truck before applying it. I was told by my detailer to apply it every other wash, or 2 washes to maintain.
I had 2 coats of the Cquartz Finest applied, mine cost me 950 bucks. They did the full exterior of my truck as well as wheels. The glass repeals the water really well too. The inside of wheels look so clean, you could eat off them. And I haven't had a chance to wash the truck yet because of weather/rain.
