e2blade, do you have any online resources that you use to learn new shooting or editing techniques by any chance? I'm feeling a little stale lately and I'm looking for some inspiration. Everything I look at is done with lights so until I can get lights again like I mentioned before, I will have to stick to the tools I have right now.

Playing around with some old pics last night. Made them a little less "boring."

I know the ghost engine bay pic isn't the greatest but It's the first I've done, so I definitely learned for next time.

Tip on the ghosting of the hood is to use a softer brush so that your uneasy hand motions don't have to be perfect and it also makes the transition look more smooth. Even lower the opacity of the brush if that helps you control it better.

The other edits look great by the way.

This might have some knowledge in it. I wrote this when I was around 20 years old with the education of a 2 year old.

I need to update this and get this website SEO'd.

As far as retouching. Alot of it comes from the in camera look, if you have a solid in camera shot, you're 99% more than likely going to create a great edit from it. Lighting is everything.

Here's some old work I did for GQ

Fernando Barbachano Lamborghini Aventador by Charles Siritho, on Flickr

To prove that equipment isn't everything, I shot this with 2 Yongnuo flashes and some shitty 30 dollar softbox off of amazon.

Thanks man! That's one thing I've been struggling with on PS is that my hand is pretty inconsistent lol. I'll take that into account and play around with it some more.

get a gaming mouse where you can adjust dpi next to dead to 8000, it will help alot with jittery. the corsair mice I use have a "sniper" mode button on the side that you can hold which drops dpi to 200 instantly and makes the mouse slow on the fly.
