Has anyone placed an order in 2016 and got ANY kind of info or comms from either the dealership or Ford AU?

I've been chasing everyone up and no one can give me any kind of detail on my order (placed Jan 2016). I had to send an email to Ford US Execs (by guessing their emails), which then they forwarded to appropriate personnel at Ford AU and finally got a call from someone, who again, had no update.

I've been played around - Dealership says they'll have an update start of April. Ford AU says they'll have an update around end of April.

Terrible customer service and planning from Ford AU. "We had to fight for another 2000 allocations" made me laugh. I thought Ford globally are cooperating, not fighting.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has ordered this year and what's your status? Any info will be much appreciated

Dont mean for this to sound rude or anything.....

But 3 months is nothing, get used to it. Yes fords communication and organisation is horrible.

Accept you have a long wait, and probably dont even worry about chasing up info for 6 months from deposit.

As long as your dealer has put the order in, all you will be doing is stressing yourself out and get frustrated.

might be worth taking a look around this site mate, you're about 4-5 months early for expecting any communication...

I ordered in June, got a vague April build estimate in Jan (7 months after order), and then concrete evidence via my VIN which I received last week (10 months) - I think that's typical of most orders

Ordered mine in Feb/March - I don't recall which
I contacted Ford via Facebook (Messenger) with my NSC code (VVV4 in this case) and was told I'd be looking at a July build, October delivery. Or in other words, MUCH faster than I'd expected!

Here's the chat I had with them -
Hope his gives you some clues.

I placed my order mid Jan and haven't heard anything, I actually called the dealership today and they didn't know anything about the allocation of 2000 extra cars. I don't expect any update from them in the next few months.

I cant tell you much about 2016 orders, but I can tell you that I ordered in Dec2014 and received no word from Ford until September 2015....then it was just an email letting me know that I had one on order. That is nine months before any communication..
You may need to sit tight for a while yet...you have a long wait ahead.

It bugs me the fact that I don't have a proof that the dealership has submitted the order through. They say yes but refuse to send me a proof. Hopefully I hear back from Ford AU by the end of the month. All I really want to know is a rough ETA which basically will match whatever I was told by the dealership - Early next year delivery. I'm not stressing, I know it's a long wait, but as long as I know everything is on track I'll be at peace and wait patiently :)

Sit back and enjoy the long ride, didn't the dealer tell you, you will have a 12 month plus wait, your dealer will be able to give you a VIN closer to build then follow the threads relating to VIN to get all the info from this group, Ford US will only tell you anything after the car is built and Ford AU will only be able to tell you anything after it is booked on a ship, all of which you will be able to find for yourself better and quicker using help on the threads here, forget what Ford AU thinks, they do not know crap. without being negative, follow the threads for the next few months and you will soon see how the whole thing works and learn that the whole process is a stuff up, Got my car yesterday so real happy

Congratz! I am pretty sure after 2 years they can see that there is still very high demand and they can allocate a bit more cars. Seriously, 2000 cars for AU PER YEAR, but the factory makes 500 a DAY. It's ridiculous.

haha, we're just a small fry in the school of US-bought mustangs. They churn through a shitload more than 2000 per year

you're right though, they did wildly underestimate the demand from our market

Cars ordered after 30th Nov 2015 have no allocation hence no NSC.
This is the reason for the extra 2000 cars for Australia.

Mate, my dealer was able to provide the NSC code within a month of ordering.
I'd be DEMANDING that they give you your NSC code. If they can't provide one, ring Ford Oz, tell them who you ordered through and when. They should at least be able to help the dealer produce one.
I hate to be cynical but the larger dealers, or dealers asking for $3k deposits might find that it suits them to not have to forward those deposits in any hurry...
You'd hope they'd be doing the right thing.

I've been following this forum and also whirlpool.
Whirlpool is awesome.

A bottomless pit of knowledge combined with the soundest of advice.

What could possibly go wrong?
