From my experience, the Whipple tune will not work with catless headers.

Yes, I heard that from many. That is why I am going with a custom tune. Hopefully it doesn't smell really bad with no cats. I had an m6 recently that I didn't put downpipes on due to so many people complain about the smell.

I will probably give him a call tomorrow. My car is currently in the shop getting everything installed and I am without a tune!

Been reading in here for weeks. Everyone uses Lund or tune. I myself will use Ken. I think he's a little more aggressive, yet just as safe. Never really see anyone blowing anything on their tunes. I just want to get as much as I safely can for this type of investment. Call him, and you will be comfortable with your decision.

My m6 was a convertible so Im sure that would be even worse with the roof down.

Ken worked for Lund. He will make your tune more aggressive tho. But there is no such thing as more aggressive and just as safe. That by noooo means Ken won't make you a safe tune. Just saying in any case, more aggressive = less safe. He will be running more timing than the Lund tune.

Absolutely. So for you, it will be less "smelly" than your M6.

I am used to the smell. I had a catless turbo car before.
I have a turbo Mazdaspeed6 and I removed the 2nd cat. But I did keep the down pipe cat in place so I don't smell it lol It's def personal choice there.

The smell was just one of those things you accepted for the sound and speed...

I get plenty of sound with my cats in place :) But to each their own. I get why other people do it. But it's not for me. I like my low end back pressure as well, that I get with cats in place. I do A LOT of local city driving.

Just keep in mind that if you are running the Whipple tune... they do not tune for headers. You would need an outside tuner. If you do not have the Whipple tune then completely ignore what I said :) Personally I need to pass emissions, so if I was to go with headers I would go Kooks Green cat headers. Tooooo many issues with CEL's without cats. I know ppl use foulers and have success with them. But it is by NO MEANS a sure thing that it will work.

Whipples tune works great with headers. They dont turn off the O2 sensors
(because they are emissions legal) so I you have no cats you will get a CEL.

I have headers with cats.
