Ford Mustang: Australian supply improves with 2000 extra units, SYNC 3 infotainm

Hey guys

I ordered my car on 30th June 2015 and

just got my Vin today from Ford Australia

Vin is also showing on Etis and I managed to get a window sticker. See attached.

From what I can see the Blend date which I assume is the Build date is 8th April which is 4 days after my Segmentation Date which sounds about right.

It also seems that my car will have Sync 3 which I did not expect.

Ford Australia today, as well as my Vin, told me the following timing estimates after the Segmentation date :

1 day to prepare car for build
2 days for build
14 days for rail from Flat Rock to Baltimore (!) I can walk faster.....
20 days for Pre shipping QA
35 days shipping time
5 days to clear customs
10 days in Destination city pre- delivery
2 days to get to the dealer

Total 89 days which give an ETA Dealer of

My dealer yesterday gave me an ETA of 25th June whereas Ford Australia today gave me an ETA of 2nd July which is indeed 89 days from Segmentation Date,so hopefully might arrive sooner.
It least I can now see the beginning of the tunnel

Very interesting seeing the signature led lighting there, does it mean the tri bar led daytime running lights? also the hood vents with extra indicators and sequential tail lights....... Im all confused now since all those items can not meet our ADR rules i was told by FORD :headbonk::frusty:

They say laughter is the best medicine......although laughing uncontrollably by yourself may indicate a hint of insanity....it is often bought on by extended waiting for your car.

I haven't heard anything from Ford yet - emailed awhile back and got an really rough delivery date of around the end of August.

No idea if I'm in line for SYNC 3 or not. Guess I will have to contact them

As noted in previous threads you can send Ford Australia on Facebook
a message direct. If you know your NSC code they will let you know
everything. They have been really handy of late.

The 2000 extra cars are to fill orders made after 30/11/15 for which no NSC has been issued.
If you ordered before that date your car will be my16 and no Sync 3.
I have had this confirmed today.

If your mustang is produced after June 2nd it will have Sync 3. Anything prior to this will only get Sync 2.

That is incorrect. Orders are in sequence. Example any cars ordered in sept 2015 will be produced in August 2016 or later and will have Sync 3. 2000 extra cars allocated are for balance of people who ordered early but may still be safe and get the MY17 models with Sync 3.

Maybe Ford should be more forthright in divesting info so we are all on the right track.

That's no entirely correct ..... A lot of people have been waiting a lot longer and will still receive sync 2 like myself ...

Maybe I got lucky but my Dec 2016 order has an NSC and estimated build and delivery date - got it a few days back.
