For those people who have already taken ownership, how are you finding putting kids in the back?

With my car in Baltimore the time has some to start looking at options to put the little one in the back. He has just turned 7 so no major seating needed and being quite tall it won't be long until he doesn't need anything at all.

What options have people gone for to add the legally required seats booster/child seats? What fits on the sculpted rears?

In my case, 90% of the time when we all travel we will probably take the wifes are or he will be with just me and can use the front seat with his normal booster but worried that won't fit in the rear so good to hear experiences from anyone who has had something fitted.

They tend to struggle a little but I find if I do the knots REALLY tight before I throw them in the boot, it tends to keep them quiet.

I have a recaro child seat in back, I cannot put it right behind my seat, I'm 6'

My boy will be 5 in May, he tall for his age, so will get a booster seat instead.

My (girls) are 9 and 15. So as long as it is me and 1 of them, front seat it is. They have sat in the back (no boosters) and generally do not like it. 15 year old is cramped, 9 year old cant see.

99% of the time we take the wife's Ex Sport.

I have four older children. So in order by height:
#1 - 6'2" Ain't no way he's gonna fit
#2 - 6' He's sat back there a few times but has to lean over or his head hits the glass
#3 - 5'8" She also has to lean over or hunch forward or her head hits. Almost makes it.
#4 - Ah, the one that actually likes it. She's probably 5'4". Finds it very comfortable.

Usually consider it a 3 seater because at 6' I like my seat back a bit. However in a pinch I've pulled mine up to get a 4th short person in behind me.

My kids are a bit older than most posts here (13 and 15). I am 6'3" so NOBODY can sit behind me, hell I cant even get my hand between the drivers seat and the back seat.

However with that said I can easily take my 13yr old and one of her friends. Both have plenty of leg room and head room - 1 in front 1 in back. I have even taken my 15yr old and his 6' tall friend - and other than the head room in back both were comfortable with sufficient legroom. Not a long trip car but doable for running to practice or home from events.

I'm 6ft 2, my kids are 8 & 6 (both tall for their age as well), both of them are on boosters & fit in without much issue. Moved the eldest behind me as his legs are long enough to drop over the edge of the seat.

For those that have put booster/child seats in the back. Which ones did you find that fit? Worried the sculpted sides won't allow a good fit on generic boosters....

I have 5 year old twins in boosters. They fit without issue, but they can't see much out of the side windows so ...get ready for it...they have gotten car sick when driving on winding roads so I keep a couple "big gulp" paper cups handy for them to sick up in ;-)

One side of the car has this one
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9092112.htm

The other side of the car has a Frozen variant of the same booster.

Neither of the boosters fit in the front passenger seat due to the side bolsters but in the back they're fine.

I vote this for the best answer, I'm 39 now with no children and hope to continue unsuccessfully trying to make them until I die.

I think i am definitely going to struggle to fit everyone in.

I am 6ft 2 and i have a 2 year old in a maxi cosi tobi and a 6 week old in a maxi cosi pebble.. i dont think either child seat will fit behind me... anyone fitted either of those seats?

I will find out next week anyway.. :headbang:

Good info. So rear seats okay for anyone approximately 5'6" or less. Saves the bother of letting people test it!
