So, wheels clean, polished, sealed they were put on and tyre dressing applied.

10 hours in today and so just a couple of pics before I lost the light.

Work not finished quite yet! But the end is at least in sight.

Time for

So, day 2 over, onto day 3.

The C1 would have cured overnight, so time to apply the final stage in the paint protection process, the Gtechniq C2V3 Liquid Crystal.

Compared to the other stages, this is a doddle. Just spray on and buff off. Saying that, it still took a few hours!

Re-mounted the rear plate. Decided to install using the US plate fixings, but using some stainless selt tapping hex fasteners I had as the ones supplied with the plastic brackets are HUGE and black.

The front plate was formed to adhere to the bumper, but as I've got a Stow and Show to fit, I've left it off for the time being so I can order a US sized plate.

So that's how you prep your own car. Or at least, how I do it :)

Believe it or not, I was smiling in this pic, but the light was fading

Mate, outstanding work. The car looks bloody fantastic. Not sure I would have the patience to do this myself. Well that and the lack of a garage big enough to work in.

Bloody gorgeous.

Thanks for the detail.

Im too nervous to use C1 so bought some C1.5 as I've read its much easier to apply.

Man I wish I had a garage big enough to do this! Superb work your car looks awesome. Also nice to see someone else with a detailing addiction like me. I'm moving onto a DA for my pony. Going to practise on my brothers fiesta first though! What's the under seal all about then? Something for the UK?

Absolutely brilliant. I hope you are going to show your car in the summer. Claying the inside of your wheels has to worth some kind of prize.

Maybe a stupid question, but presumably this process can be done panel by panel over a couple of weeks?

For these wheels, it was well worth investing in some decent brushes. They are a right fiddle to get inside especially around the Brembo calipers - so a decent set are well worth it.
stiggy - Fantastic job and loved reading through this! I thought i spent loads of hours prepping mine :)

One question, where did you get your wheel brushes from? Mine seem a little harsh and not sure long term if they will start hazing the black alloys, so need something softer to slide through the spokes / reach the inner rims.

American cars are undersealed as an option bought at the dealers so ours arrive over with no sealing done. This is done at the yard in Zeebrugge.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading your detail process.

Thank you for taking the time to post all the photos and descriptions!

I also carried out a paint correction on my DIB GT with my Griots Orbital and Adams Polish products. Nothing beats DIB in my opinion, such a rewarding colour to polish!
