Of our special ordered 2016 GT Premium 401A...

Right off the bat, this was a hard decision for us to make. We went back and forth on if we should keep the 2014 and be happy (It was paid for) or go all in and get the new gen. The 2014 was, without any hesitation, the best vehicle we have ever owned. Almost bullet proof reliable. Fun to drive and never failed to put us in a good mood.

Well, we purchased a new home and my employer changed my "Office" address so those changes kind of made the decision for us.

So off to the wonderful folks at Bowen Scarff Ford. We know each other very well. I think we have purchased a vehicle or two (Sarcasm alert) from them now. And as usual, very accommodating, bust their tails to make us happy and well, great advice.

Only time will tell if this car can live up to the expectations we have for him (Yes, him, more on that in a moment). I do a lot of driving for work, and the wife loves our drives whenever possible. To say we will drive this car a lot is easy.

We did do our first "Mod" before leaving the dealership. We really did not care to much for the majority of the rims that Ford is putting on these cars right now, and actually not to happy how Ford "Limits" what car can get what. We decided that the Foundry wheels would be the best option (Being 9" wide allowing for larger tires) and had the dealership wrap them in Continental DWS 06's in 275/35/20's.

We did bring the brand new original Pirelli summer tires home in our Tahoe =]

And as soon as I got home for "My turn" at the wheel, I installed our second mod (Pic below).

Now for the name, we are thinking Maximus at the moment.

And how do we know it is a "Male" Mustang? The last three digits of the vin are 317. For those who are of the religious type...

John 3:17 New International Version (NIV)
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

So there you have it! Our third Mustang released to the world...

Hey I know that ramp there in the background - took delivery of Inara on it! Those guys do a good job of taking care of customers.

Congrats - nice car!

Just don't hit the go-baby-go button while you're driving!

Unless you want to stop baby stop. Or whatever happens when that happens. Hopefully I never find out.

Also, great looking car!

Thanks everyone!

We did add a pair of items today. We ordered (Yesterday) the Weather-tech floor liners and the Ford trunk liner. They called this morning and let us know they already came in.

Awesome dealership, even took a few bucks off.

And my goodness what a wonderful ride this car is. The tires make this car grip the road significantly better than the Pirelli's did on the previous GT.

The sound system is NOT making me happy though. Flat sounding and hissy. Even the wife had a "Oh boy, I know what he is thinking" look on her face when she tried to "Tune" it.

BTW... This special order GT, we ordered everything they could put on the car from the factory. Every box was checked for an A6 non-convertible Premium 401A GT. I only mention this because I failed to earlier and it adds to the disappointment to the sound system.

But hey, its a sports car, the sound needs to be the exhaust and screaming from the passengers anyway right?!?

Small update.

OK. I hate to say this. Please FTLOG Ford. Quit purchasing those crappy Pirelli's and replace them with the Continental DWS 06's!!!!!!

The wife and I took Maximus out for a 100+ mile drive this afternoon to a few stretches of road that has multiple 15-20 mile an hour turns (Real ones) and this car never lost its spot on the road. Never made a noise and simply dared us for more.

These tires are AWESOME. They make the Pirelli's seem more like drift tires as I steered with the rear with them. It took me a few corners to correct the muscle memory and not over steer the new car.

Man are we glad we listened to our dealership and got these...

Also, just about had it with the "Meh" Shaker system. I think the first thing to get fixed is the removal of the woofer and get a real one.

I've taken some good sharp turns with my dws06's and never lost confidence. I'm talking g 60 plus mph. Wet traction is superb too.

Tried it once (sometimes my left rear turn signal has one bar out that is fixed by restarting the car, it is being replaced under warranty next week). Put it in Neutral and pushed the button, you have to hold it for a good 4-5 seconds while moving, would be tough to accidentally shut it off while searching for the seat heaters or something else.

I hear so many people complain about the 401a shaker sound system. I for one think it sounds awesome, especially streaming pandora. I guess I just don't have audiophile ears. It blows the Bose in the Caddy and Sony in the Taurus out of the water.

It's pretty good once you boost treble and reduce the bass a bit.
I'm glad I got the 401A.
