Well..almost true about the C6 GS.

It had a dry sump version of the LS3, just as the C7 GS has a dry sump LT1.

Both of which did not make the transition over to the 1LE's.

Nobody here thinks the gt350 is over priced? GT with $33,295 vs GT350 with $48,695, is GT 350 really worth the extra $15,400 over a GT?

For a unique 5.2L, 526 HP car with 6 piston front, 4 piston rear brembo brakes, MRC, track coolers, recaro seats and such for $55,500? No, I don't happen to think the GT350 is overpriced.

Keep in mind the Z/28 has an original MSRP of $75,000, above and beyond even the GT350R and in the real world is no faster, on the streets and spirited highway driving, than a GT350 Track Pack.

I think the Z/28 should have been *closer* to a 1LE with the LS7 and ZL1 brakes. If the Z/28 had MPSS's, ZL1 brakes, a LS7 and the DSSV dampers it would have been about $58,000 and would have been on a similar, but different, price range as the ZL1.

They could have made a Z/28 R spec or something that had the CCB's and Trofeo's as an option package if people wanted it, but a $58,000 base Z/28 would have been smarter and easily doable.

Ummmm yeah. Riiiiiiight.
It's priced just right. GM z28 was a rip off. The GT350 is just right.

Once again. Claims ripoff without any factual evidence or math. Nice job thePill II.
What is your defense. I'm not the only one who thinks the old z28 was a rip off. 75 plus is, and was not a bargain period. How can you disagree and whip a dead horse. Why would you buy a 75k plus car when the vett offered by the same company is more capable. How can you argue the fact that the Shelby is cheaper, faster, better and liked by more?

Also what evidence do I need it's all over the world what the z cost.

The z did not have a unique engine, it does not have unique fenders

How much was a 2014 SS, 1LE, and the z28?

The only reason paying 75 grand for the z28 is the same reason why now people paying with adm pricing for the gt 350's. You gotta have it! It doesn't matter. If you are willingly spending 75 grand on a z28 while a slightly used c6zo7 corvette with the same engine but with better track capability and 3200 lb weight is sitting on the lot, then there is no reasoning in this decission. You want that car in your garage! Period.

Of course you'd claim the exact opposite about something that you purchased...

Not to mention everything you listed that's unique about the GT350 was unique with the Z/28 outside of the transmission. So. Great comparison question mark?
The Z/28 had all the same body panels, except for I think the front splitter, spoiler and rockers(?) as every other Camaro SS. It did have a unique grille with the flow-tie.

It must be a tough choice...

Do you diminish the Z/28 by pointing out it's sedan roots, and talk it down to make it seem like it wasn't so big of a deal with the GT350R beating it...

OR

Do you hail it as the genuinely impressive, high performance vehicle it is and have to recognize how much MORE impressive the GT350R is for beating it..

It must be downright painful.

It added a slight increase to air flow. No one intelligent would think it would add downforce... Once again showing your lack of knowledge and want to just insult something you know nothing about.
Jesus Christ you take things to literally

I would hail it as genuinely impressive for what it did with the platform it had at the time.

I'd also hail the GT350R for being more genuinely impressive now.

It's not that hard to understand.

People like to try to pretend that something is what it isn't. The Z/28 was. The GT350R is.

People like to talk down the Z/28 based on a newer car beating it when obviously it should beat it. If a newer car with better technology didn't beat it that would be an absolute fail.

It was meant to increase cooling airflow, not down force. The refresh grill of the Gen 5 Camaro didn't flow enough air to cool the Z/28 stock, so the they opened up the grill, used the flow-tie and it lowered temps by..something like 5-10%..(I forget the figure)

***EDIT:

Ah, I see...it was sarcasm. Sorry.

Also. This is really supposed to be about the new Z/28 anyway.

So I'm done arguing about old news.

My defense was I provided math earlier and all you can provide is a one sided opinion and an insult along with vague information.

Within the Camaro it had a unique engine and it had fender flares. Ok so not technically unique fenders but slightly wider stance. So half a point to Voodoo.

And I'd sure hope a new gen mustang purpose built for the track would beat a previous gen Camaro built on a heavy ass sedan frame (also purpose built). Great argument though there.

In other news the 2015 Mustang GT beats the 2000 Mustang GT. Impressive.
We're talking about 2 cars that are months apart. Not 5 years apart. and the z28 is a track car, the z28 does not have a unique engine to that car! The gt350 does.
The LS7 is not unique to the z28. They didn't build a car specific engine like ford did for the Shelby. What don't you get. They took a vet engine dropped it into the z28 added carbon brakes, upgraded suspension etc a few flares and seats. It's not worth 75k and many people thought so. I know two GM dealers in my area that sold 2 under msrp to get rid of them.
