Mph is an indicator of HP, at 4000lb race weight he should be trapping 145+ with 800rwhp, 137 trap is upper 6xx rwhp. That's all I'm saying.
Maybe he can switch to skinny front tires and reduce air drag.
What is measure is measured by the machine clearly.
It's not like he is lying about the 137mph trap speed.

but can 600hp cars do low 10's?
maybe he set the power by gear in the whipple tune so it's not making that amount of power all the time.
having more power in lower gear, more slip and slower ET but higher trap speed or less slip, lower trap speed and faster ET?
The way he is launching is so consistent, even more consistent than the GT-R seems like the car is not putting out the full 800rwhp from the get go. So maybe the average hp is no where near 800rwhp hence the lower trap speed.

I ran 10.5@133 mph

600rwhp/500rwtq
93 octane
3.15's stock stall and a Paxton with the biggest pulley they send
1.65 60'

If I had a converter that's a 9.99-10.299

The time slip doesn't lie but dynos have been known to be off. That trap speed represents 680-730rwhp in a 4K lb car

For the record, I do not think anyone is lying.

To answer your question, can a 600rwhp car run 10's? Yes. Many have done it. It can be done with mid to upper 500rwhp.

Dyno's are a tuning tool and should not be used to compare cars IMO, That's what the track is for.

I don't agree 100% with the mph = X HP. It is a factor or rule of thumb but by no means exact.

The auto shifts lower then we want for optimal drag time and mph, 6800-7000 in first, 7000-7200 in each other gear. The 3rd to 4th gear drops to 5600rpm and lugs through the lights, roughly 6100-6300rpm. By increasing shift points and optimizing tire size you can significantly increase et and mph as each downshift will be 400+ higher rpm.

Also, we still use torque management during the shifts as this is a production cal, not one off race cals. The reason we do this, no matter what anyone says removing this will significantly lower transmission life, far greater than current setups. This does slightly drop et/mph but we feel strongly about transmission life.

Note that this is hot lapping, no ice in the intercooler system, no trunk ice reservoir, etc. ice can easily increase 50rwhp in a drag app.

Yes, there is only so much power you can put down. Simply by adding power to a car won't necessarily make it faster.

You can't average your peak unless you have a 10 speed trans. It peaked at 800rwhp, launch at idle, there a lot of rpm and varying power throughout the runs.

Nice run.

I would like to say that I think the Whipple kit is a beautiful system, fit and finish are OEM quality and the Whipple tune is better than any Supercharher manufactures out there. All that and 50 state legal! I also respect what Kumar is doing pushing the limits and essentially R&Ding for Whipple. All Whipple customers will benefit from this and Whipple's commitment to constant improvement of its tune. Much respect!

Sweet what size/brand cause my 3.55s are holding me back
3.55's go into 4th at 124mph with a 28" tire/7900rpms. You'd have to go to 3.15's, which top out at 140mph, perfect for the qtr, but you'd have to go to an aluminum housing, ring/pinion, new differential, and a Whipple flash tool to recalibrate. 3.55's are quicker through the 8th, slower through the qtr unless you trap over 140mph.

Have you tried stalling higher on the launch? I cut 1.6's leaving at idle, but 1.4's on 20's when I load up the stock stall. You're a 1.4x from a 9. Were you on slicks or drag radials? Slicks definitely eat up mph but et's benefit.

I'm headed to run the qtr on Saturday, hoping for low 10's at 136+ as well.

Yes that's what I am saying. Can't judge ET and trap speed based on peak HP.
still pretty good number launching at idle.
I wonder if he stall a bit would he go in 10 seconds?
