For you clear bra experts, which brand would be better for DIB? Suntek or XPel?
As i've said before, in all honesty, whichever installer is better.

If it is the same, super awesome, installer, i'd probably put suntek on a blue car. but! if the xpel installer is awesome and the suntek dude is just "okay", xpel , all the way.

For you experienced folk, what clear wrap would you put on Oxford White?

As I'm in Texas I have access to the best XPEL installers around (XPEL owned installation and warranty centers). But I hear plenty of good things about Suntek and 3M Scothguard Pro.

I had a guy in Argyle do it. He has a small two bay shop and this is all he does with Tint. He is ex-military and picky as hell. Really did a great job at a good price I thought. Gave me my choice of Xpel, Suntek and 3M if I wanted it. For my color he recommended the Suntek and I am glad he did as I was leaning towards the Xpel. He showed me the differences on my car.

What all did you have covered? Full hood? etc.?
Thanks for the reply.

A 3M installer in my area told me that the 3M kit is not available for the GT350. Are you sure your guy can install the 3M without the kit being available?

the R has matte stripes, I wouldn't want to mess up the matte underneath, plus it would look glossy with the covering over them. JMO here Anyone else go over your stripes that had matte?

Xpel or Suntek Over Stripes only period They both have very good properties for healing and a good installer can make that fine line go away with alcohol and heat the installer that did the previous red with white stripes did a very good job with Suntek very clear no yellow for what can see 3M will yellow to fast and there top coat is not as good.

In your case you have to do in in 2 steps one do the full hood and whatever parts of the car then do the stripes in matte finish if you want those stripes to last that will be a big job or don't do the stripes and clear coat them after.

i had xpel put on yesterday and they did it over the stripes. came out great! there is a tiny raised edge at the stripe since the stripe is put on over the paint and was to be expected and he told me as well before, but it came out great i think.
That line will go away after time if you work them out when the hood is hot in the sun.

You don’t want to know
I have used Xpel on bright white, pearl white and two shades of bright red - no yellowish tint, no orange peel, excellent clarity and no problems. With 3M, I had problems with yellowing, clarity, nicks and edges coming up.

i have matte black stripes and i didn't do the whole car. i didn't do the stripes because it would make my stripes glossy on half the car.

if you are doing matte black then do the whole car xpel. if you are doing doing part of the car then don't do the stripes.

Thanks Zombiekiller. It is the same installer and he was leaning towards Suntek but asked me which one I prefer.
