Just wondering if any Forum Members have thought about a Dash Mat. Not sure about Airbag locations and therefore it would be a viable option. If I have my Mustang parked outside I always ensure that I have my silver screen protector on the inside of the windscreen however with how sun out here just wondering about how the top of the dash will standup overtime with just normal driving.

What are the tint laws in Australia? Many companies now make a clear tint that you can put on your windshield that will drastically reduce the UV damage done to your dash and you wouldn't even know it was there.

Tints are generally not allowed on the windscreen except for a small strip across the top. There are also limitations as to darkness on side and rear windows. Too dark and your car receives a defect notice from the police.

I emailed Haigh Australia today regarding their Sunland Dashmats. The Production Manager emailed me back promptly advising that they are currently conducting a market survey on the new Mustang model and that this would determine when they may introduce the dashmat into their range. He went on to say that with the Mustang being a new model with limited vehicles and a tooling cost of $5,500 he believes it to be a longer term venture and there for maybe after the second delivery of vehicles. I assume he means after the 2017 model is delivered.

I'm still waiting on the price. Will let you know as soon as they tell me. They have them coming in apparently, so will check out the quality/thickness etc.

I just followed up on the dashmat here Greg, and they are in stock and sell for $148. They have the red/white/blue bar and Pony emblem on them and there is one for the front dashboard and also they have one for the rear 'parcel shelf' for the fastback models at the same price. $148 each.
Mr Mustang 08 9330 7667 and ask for Vince Shervington. He has been importing parts and restoring Mustangs here in the West forever. I have not seen the dashmat yet, but will update you when I pick up mine. He also is ordering some Sunshields but none there yet. And he is working on a new bumper shield mat - that sits it the boot and you unfold it over the bumper before you load/unload items into the boot. No prices on them yet.

Guys the dash looks VERY symmetrical. I'd be surprised if the US dashmats didnt fit.

Just a word to the wise

I had a dash mat on only one vehicle in my life. And that was the only vehicle that the dash cracked. If you have a garage you're fine, but leaving the car in the sun each day, sunscreen or no, the dash mat increases the heat on the surface of the dash, IMHO
