Borla ATAK

Hey guys I have a question about exhaust, I know exhaust questions are hard to answer because of others opinions about what loud is, but I'm still curious to see what you guys think.

So about 3 months ago I bought a Gibson 3" catback for my 15 5.0 and I hated it, it droned way too much and there was never a point (when driving) that it wasn't loud. Always loud and I couldn't stand it, took it off the next day and sold it.

So my question is how loud would the Borla ATAK AXLE BACK be compared to a full cat back system. I want a loud-ish exhaust but I also want to be able to cruise and not have to hear it rumbling away. I was going to go the Roush route, but by its self it doesn't seem loud enough, and with resonator delete its too loud, so now I'm looking at borla or Ford Racing.
Any input helps!

the atak is the in between of corsa sport and xtreme. I have had all 3 systems and the 3in atak cb was my favorite. I never plan to get rid of my ataks. its very livable too. deep and mean sounding. I have a bunch of video reviews if you youtube fist13fox. my channel

Do you have MT or AT?? Just installed Borla ATAK Catback last weekend. I have AT and in Normal mode they sound awesome. In Sport + they are pretty loud with windows down. LOL

I have the 2.5" ATAK catback. I think what surprised me the most was how quiet the system is when just cruising. The noise picks up at highway speeds but it's never intrusive, imo.

I have the ATAK also. You can pretty much control the sound with the gas pedal. The harder you accelerate the louder it gets, but if you slowly accelerate you can actually not get it to sound very loud at all. When you set in at a specific RPM to cruise, there is no drone. If you rev it though, shes loud!

Not yet. There are some vids online and sound depends on so many factors. It can be loud or not depending on how much throttle you give it.

Do you feather the throttle so that you keep the sound low as not to boher anybody?? Lol Not me

I have the ATAK on my GT. They are IMO a great balance of volume, deep roar, and relative calmness while cruising or low RPMs. They sound great at a cold sstat, scream when you mash the gas, but zero drone and docile when at crusing speeds/low RPMs. I couldnt be happier with mine!
