I've had issues with this dealership keeping my appointments, 3rd time Ive scheduled it and they didn't have me in computer...They took me anyways.

Anyways, I get home and check the receipt. They put in 9.33 quarts of
XO*5w50*QGT..

I thought weight was suppose to be 5w20? Or did something change?

I change my own oil because I trust myself more. It uses 8 quarts of 5-20W.

You might want to give them a call over that one.

Just called and spoke with 2 technicians. Both said mustang gt with track or performance pack requires 5w50, even though the cap and owners manual says 5w20. I can upload the receipt in a few to show.

dealership should be idiot proof by now. Enter the car into the computer, and it tells them exactly what to do.

Idiots. 8 qts 5W20 in the GT. If you choose to use something else, that is a different matter.

LOL

Sorry about that man. I'd pay money NOT to have my oil changed by a dealer

My dealer gave me coupons for my first three oil changes.

Once I just got finished getting the oil changed by the dealer on my F-150 Ecobeast. The tech came running out and said "can you wait a moment please?, I noticed some oil on the floor of the garage and I want to make sure I get all the drips cleaned up."

I trust the dealers unless they give me a reason not to. Luckily the one closest to my house does a great job. Their sales people just suck. Never purchased a car from them.

They are 10000000% wrong on the weight and 9.3 quarts. WOW....

There is no engine difference between the PP and base model GT's. So there is absolutely no reason why the PP should have a different oil type or amount than the base model.

I'm not sure why the dealerships have such a hard time using the correct type and correct amount of oil on their own cars? :frusty:

As someone mentioned earlier, it is foolproof. Their database will tell them everything they need to know in less than 10 seconds!
