Here's an issue that some of you might have thought about. You've ordered your Mustang sight unseen, making your call from Internet photos, but now you're starting to see them in the flesh, you're starting to second guess yourself - and your wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend/dog/cat is also chiming in as they see real-life vehicles.

My story, ordered Race Red GT 4 Sept 2015, seen one in real-life. Had some panel issues, but otherwise looked okay, but didn't fall in love with it. I picked up my wife and quickly drove her to where I had seen the car (this must sound like the act of a crazy person to non-enthusiasts), and she was a bit "meh" as the kids say these days ... ("prefer the red on your red car [an old Celica]" WTF?) Saw a black GT and EB 'vert, looked very nice, but I don't think black's for me, saw an Ingot Silver (GT or EB?) and thought, whoa, that looks REALLY good. I can see myself having that with the nickel wheels. Wife also wants to see a Ruby Red GT in the flesh - that was her colour choice, but I did a captain's call for Race Red ("it's your car, get what you want").

So, I have been told that I have until some time in March to lock in colour, but I am terrified of having my order get lost, or I get stuck back in the queue. Just sent an email to dealer, but am wondering what others think, or have done.

I could just be a cheap bastard and play it safe with Race Red and an extra $500 to spend on 'enhancements'.

Ruby Red is nice :)

Ask the dealer to confirm in writing that changing colour now will not change the delivery time.

It looks like people have had experiences both ways.

Yes, that's why I emailed. I'm not saying I WILL change, but am thinking about it.

This is all a product of the wait, of course. If I had a Race Red GT parked downstairs, I doubt I'd be asking this question (wife said as much this morning).

I think the silver with nickel wheels combo is the most underrated colour on this mustang.

I haven't seen that in person yet, but in pictures it's incredible.

Many people are against the silver because it's typically bland but it just looks 100% right on the mustang.

Having ordered an Ingot (vert) with Nickel Lustre wheels I obviously am a fan of the colour combination. Not being a boy racer anymore (41 yo) I think the colour and wheels make the car seem a level classier than some of the other colours - as we spoke about on another thread.
I honestly dont think you can go wrong with any colour though...but definitely would not change a colour if your build date was delayed.

I've changed my mind a bit and now think Ingot is the colour the clear tail lights work best with - so with that, I'm on board :)

I'm not a fan of the style of the nickel wheels (I think they're _ok_ in black because they're hidden), but an aftermarket set of silver five spoke wheels would look great - classic style!

I seriously hated the wheels when I saw them initially online (both black and nickel) and thought budget allowing I would change them straight away. I personally am not a fan of black wheels on most cars anyway. Then I saw them on the white one pictured in Nickel Lustre finish and they have been growing on me. Not sure until I see the car in the flesh will I be sure but the white one alleviated my worries quite a bit - and my wife's when I said maybe I wasnt spending more money on wheels...

Wait until you clean them a few times, you might like the idea of some aftermarkets again after that !

Inspected my RR at the dealers this week and parked nearby was a Ruby Red. Now my Wie and I originally wanted Ruby but with bugger all images to look at over a year ago I changed my order at the last moment and went for RR. After looking at both this week the RR really pops out colour wise and the Ruby Red was a lot more understated but kinder nice I thought especially with the black wheels and I would have it tinted. I liked the Ruby but the RR stands out and I'm happy with what I have bought. Pick up day tomorrow so the fun times begin.

Sounds like my post! Went from Race Red to Ruby Red. Now I would settle for primer gray and paint it myself if I could just get a car before I die.....:)

The fade in style stripe actually looks good with that colour, but terrible on anything else I have seen so far.

I am in the same boat as others - ordered RR but have been so impressed with other colours now that there are more photos about of the RH drive. The white rear tail lights make quite a difference to the look in terms of the various colour, wheels, stripes etc in combo.

As I understand it there are no compliance issues with either a red or dark tint film being put on to hide the white?

Still struggling with this dilemma
Ordered ingot silver because I couldn't decide other colours online

Now having seen DIB magnetic ruby and race red Im doubting my original decision
(Still yet to see I got silver in the flesh)

My car was supposedly scheduled for build March 3 which is now last week of March so I could prob still get in a color change

Ford - hurry and build it so I stop dwelling on it !!!

Silver looks much much better than I thought it would. It was on my definitely not list until recently.

There shouldn't be an issue with red lenses on brake lights... I'm not sure about the outside lights that are used as indicators
