Apologies if previously posted:

Just ignore the bit about it being the 'first Mustang in 50 years with IRS'
He's technically correct if he means full production models. The SN95 cobra was a one-off special and it doesn't really count IMHO.

Excellent review though. Gotta love EVO magazine.

the fact he had a cheeky grin for most of the review tells its own story, he loved it!

Just read the write-up in the magazine (while standing in Sainsburys. Too tight to buy a copy!), don't think it's online yet. Not exactly a glowing summary - 'too big for the UK', 'compromised ride', 'poor body control' yadda yadda yadda - the usual stuff. However, their parting words were 'give us a UK GT350'. Amen to that! :D

Good, keep the unwanting future owners who aint mustang fans, away from our sacred baby :thumbsup:.

A 350/350R would be nasty on these roads, they'd still say 'Too big', 'too loud', 'Too quick', 'Too american' etc. (they're journos at the end of the day, they sell based on slating things usually....

If anything a 350 will ride better, magnetic dampers are an awesome thing when done ride. Select comfort and they are like magic carpet, select track and its like having coilovers, or just select intelligent and they adapt to driving.

It is the one must have thing for the GT, but it will never happen as they need the ECU to be re-programmed on a big scale to get them working correctly, of course a third party could release something with a separate control panel installed in the car, but it would be like $3000 kit I suspect which would put a lot of people off.

But I'd love the 350 to come to UK because then the Journo's would compare a 50-60k 350 to a 50-75k M3/M4/F-Type etc. and the reality is the 350 would absolutely batter those cars in every aspect.

Whereas now they compare the GT to such cars and then say its not as good as Europes best offerings, well of course its bloody not, it is not supposed to be.

Left the ride style off my things for them reasons, as the roll is reduced and the 'hop' etc is down, it's a lot slicker of a ride. Just was pulling out things that jounro's would say to slate it because it's not one of 'Euopes elite' cars.

350/350r would smash anything it's price range. There's very few cars that come into that 50k-75k range that would come close. But journo's would still hate on it for bits (see my original post).

GT's still a phenominal car for it's price, same goes for the EB, can't get sh1t close to it for that price.

The trouble with these reviews is that there's nothing that they can compare it to (which is the lifeblood of any auto scribe).

Catchpole compares it to an F-Type Jag or a Porsche... eh? Massive cost differential for both.

Ultimately - who gives a toss. As I've said many times, I wouldn't trust your average motoring journo to drive me to the shops. The car is a people's hero (and ours) and that's what counts.

Absolutely. The write up is just the usual cliched stuff - but everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess. Yes, ultimately there are better cars out there (in a technical sense), but they cost at least 50% more and do any of them make you grin like the Mustang does every single time you get in and drive? I took mine out for a quick drive round the block yesterday (to get over the disappointment of not making it to the Gowrings do), and had to pull up at a set of lights. Next thing I know I see an Irish guy (although I obviously didn't know he was Irish at the time!) getting out of his Transit about 3 cars back in the queue and dashing up the road to ask me about the Mustang! Never seen anyone do that for an F-Type or a Porsche.

Anyway, if you're as enthusiastic about the GT350 as I am you may have seen this already - but it's worth a watch even if you're not.

Just read the write-up in the magazine [...] 'too big for the UK',
Okay, this irks me to absolutely no god-damn end.

The car is not "big", even by British standards. Its a mid-size car. If these journos actually bothered to get out their tape measure (or just read a few spec sheets) they'd find that cars such as the Mazda 6, Audi A6, Jaguar XF etc. are longer than the Mustang and just as wide.

Those cars aren't "too big" for the UK, so why is the slightly smaller Mustang too big?

Sure, the car LOOKS big because of its proportions - sitting something low to the ground whilst making it wide and long will make anything look massive - but too big for the UK? Hardly. Journos did the same thing with the gen5 Camaro, calling it too big whilst forgetting that it was a whisker shorter and just as wide as a Mondeo.

Journo's be stupid, the car is pretty much the same size as a Smax, fortunatley my dad drives an Smax and reads car mags a lot, kept coming to me with 'Its going to be too big for you etc etc' 'Itd be too big for me'

You raised a good point - proportions make it seem big, the long hood and driving position is pretty much rear centre of the car, as a pose to front 3rd.

Multistory car parks are a nightmare in a corsa, only thing that manages is a smart car, they're meant to be packed out, gonna have to do a lot of back n forth movements to get through most things in any car that size. Most saloons included.

Or ur parking sucks Cati ;).

*Car is big, but not that big.
