Is there anyone on here without any problems with their 'stang?!

As a prospective buyer im getting worried by all the issues being raised in this forum, from condensation in the headlights, to engine power issues, to the underneath of the car not being protected/sprayed properly, to issues with the mustang wing mirror light, not to mention the ordering delays!!! This is supposed to be a new car!!

Im really starting to question Ford's build quality on the Mustang - which is suprising as ive had many Fords before and found them reliable. Did they just rush this car, the handbrake and cup holders on the wrong side makes me think so.

Has anyone here had an issue free experience?! Ive always wanted a 'stang but all these issues are pushing me into the BMW M2 camp, which i really don't want!

Condensation: Not a fault just by design, but I've not noticed it on mine since getting car, not done it since.
Engine power loss: Fault or just characteristic?
Underseal: Not a fault, lousy job by undersealers, I am sure a complaint to Ford will see them doing the car again for you free of charge.
Mirror light: One issue.


Not really see any major fault as such, apart from panel alignment issues which can be fixed easily.

End of the day you either want a Mustang or M2, the little glitches should not be enough to push you away if a Mustang is truly the car you want.

Have had zero issues so far besides a few areas that have very slight panel misalignment.

So you are going to base your decision on a maybe a few hundred people posting issues vs the thousands of Mustangs sold.

Those that have issues are quick to post them up, even before going to the dealer for help, yet those of us that don't have any issues (myself included) are not going to make a post to say my car is perfect. I have had a 2006 Mustang GT, 2010 Gt500, 2012 GT500, 2014 GT and now the 2015 GT. Out of all 5 I have only had to take in the 2010 Shelby for a lose trim piece and noise in the rear end. All taken care of by the dealer.

Any car, including the M2, can have issues, even when new. Luck of the draw.

Not sure what you mean about engine power issue.

American cars have always come not weather sealed underneath. It is usually a deal installed option.

I have had my car 11 months. 1 trip to the dealer for a loose baffle inside the suitcase (resonator).

Outside of that, the car has been rock solid. zero complaints. It is a $40 mustang, not a $250k Bentley. So i don't get worked up over minor issues like the hood moving at speed or a 1/32 gap on a fender.

I have had high dollar European cars and cars and they have the same quality issues as american cars if not worse.

But again, my 15 mustang GT is rock solid. If I totaled it today, I would buy another tomorrow, well...I may push for a GT350.

Let me quickly just say, that most people on the forums are perfectionists and hardcore petrol heads, car lovers or mustang lovers, that combination is lethal when purchasing a car because we're - as a collective willing to voice any issues openly. Most are 'One-offs' and most are things that if you were to buy a merc, beemer, audi etc, you'd never notice, because, you'd not be buying the car for that reason like you would the Mustang, you'd ignore panel misalignments - which naturally occur in all cars, you'd ignore condesing headlights as a design feature etc.

Nothing in this world is perfect (oh look steve went Philosophical!) I could personally pick faults in Ferarri's, Lamborghini's, Bugatti's etc, It really doesn't matter, if you're hunting for faults or issues and are a perfectionist, you will find them.

That being all said, there's a magical thing called 'Warranty' (Excuse the sarcasm) which we can use to 'fix' the issues! benefits of raising them to the forums is it allows us all to 'search' for these issues when we drive our cars, and subsequently ask them to be fixed as well - Which hopefully should be reported back to ford when they look at 'issues' with the Mustang and then fixed at development, rather than post delivery.

The main issue was the wiring loom problem but that was easily fixed with some "tin foil" and a cable tie.

Had my Mustang just over 3 weeks. Not a single issue so far. Panels are all lined up correctly.

i have one panel slightly misaligned
i have to have my rear bumper resprayed ( contamination under paint)
water leak in boot behind subwoofer
wind noise is the stang is the worst noise from any car

You also have to understand people are waaaaay more likely to find this forum or speak up if they are having issues. If all is going well many people won't ever come on here just to post about how things are going as expected. That being said I found my way here because of mods and I have had zero issues. I had nothing but problems with my bimmers and mercedes

I echo what others have said.

My power issue may not even be an issue, that's why I posted on here before going to the dealer, so I don't look like an idiot.

Before this car I had a Merc A class and had more trips to the dealer than to the toilet!I have a mate with an Audi that said he never will again.

This is a forum. You go on any motoring forum ii will be full of people talking about issues their cars have.

If you want a Mustang, get one. If you have any real doubts don't! But do not be out off by a few issues the early owners may have had,

Given what people anecdotally post about BMW reliability as their cars get older, I could summarily dismiss ever buying one of those vehicles

That said, I've had no major issues with my 2015 since I got it in November, 2014. It was built within the first 2 weeks of production, which some say to never get because "they are working the bugs out".

Between the base warranty and the fact that there has been RHD production already, you have a much higher likelihood of having a satisfactory experience. Regarding "underneath the car not being sprayed properly", I've owned Mustangs from the 4th and 5th generations and driven them during winters with road salt. I've not had issues with corrosion that materially affect them. If you want the differential or other underbody parts to remain as they are when new, then of course you could have them painted.

I think you are probably a lot safer than you think. Good luck in your decision.

Don't forget also that this is a new generation car and although doubtless will have had rigorous road testing, doesn't have a lot of real world testing. Some of these issues should hopefully be getting refined out with each batch that rolls off the production line. Power issues don't seem common and possibly are just characteristic. Mirror light issue is a bit dubious, but again - possibly down to it being something new. Build quality is bound to be less than perfect given the price of the car. There has to be something we compromise on at the price point. But that really is just the tradeoff for having something as cool as th Mustang. Most will be happy with that!

Approaching 14,000 miles and no issues to address since delivery.

I have a convertible and have opened and closed it just about every single time i have driven it. The top has been faultless as well.
